Our Mentor Groups have been busy creating imaginative Six Sentence Stories! πŸ“šβœοΈ

Working in mixed-age groups, students collaborated to plan and write creative stories using the structure: Somebody, Wanted, But, So, Then and Finally. The stories showcased wonderful creativity, teamwork and problem-solving, with plenty of unique characters and exciting adventures.

Students have now begun illustrating their stories and are already bringing their ideas to life with colourful and creative artwork. We look forward to seeing the finished masterpieces when Mentor Groups meet again!

What a fantastic day at our House Athletics Carnival! πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ

It was wonderful to see students proudly wearing their house colours and giving every event their best effort. The day began in the mist and finished in beautiful sunshine, providing the perfect backdrop for a day full of participation, perseverance and fun.

A huge thank you to our parent helpers for their support throughout the day. Events like this simply couldn't run without your time and assistance. We are also grateful to all the staff who helped make the day such a success.

Well done to all students for their enthusiasm, encouragement and sportsmanship! πŸ’™πŸ’›πŸ’šβ€οΈ

This week our last group of Year 3 and 4 students explored stories of Australian immigration and identity through a range of historical and cultural perspectives. They learned about Aboriginal connections to Country by examining possum skin cloak stories and the importance of storytelling in preserving culture and history. Students also investigated the migration experience through Eva Schubert’s story, gaining an understanding of the challenges and opportunities faced by people arriving in Australia. Thank you to the parents who accompanied our groups to the Immigration Museum.

After seven challenging rounds, Eltham East finished in an impressive 4th place overall. A special congratulations to two of our students who qualified to progress to the next stage of competition and play in the State Finals in October. Congratulations to all of our players on a fantastic effort and for representing our school so proudly!

Today, some of our Year 3 and 4 classes visited the Immigration Museum to learn about the many stories of migration that have shaped Australia. Students explored museum exhibits, participated in the Our Stories program and enjoyed a walk across the Sandridge Bridge, reflecting on the diverse cultures, experiences and contributions that make up our community today.

Thank you to our parent helpers for supporting the excursion and helping make the day such a success. The rest of our Year 3 and 4 classes are excited to have their turn to experience this enriching excursion over the coming week.

As part of National Reconciliation Week 2026, our choir shared a powerful performance of 'Beds Are Burning' at assembly yesterday morning. Students watched a video from Wurundjeri Elder Aunty Joy Murphy and learnt about the significance of manna gum leaves to the Wurundjeri people. Across the school, classes have begun contributing to an art project using collected gum leaves. We look forward to seeing this project grow over the coming weeks as we continue to learn about reconciliation and deepen our understanding of connection to Country, culture and community.
