It's been a HOT🔥HOT 🔥 HOT 🔥start to 2026!

As we head into a very hot, long weekend, we’re reminding our community just how important sun safety is at Goodstart Eltham ☀️

☑️ Sunscreen
☑️ Broad-brimmed hat
☑️ Water
☑️ Shade

From Nursery all the way through to Kinder our children learn to be SunSmart by practicing how to apply sunscreen, making sure they wear their Goodstart hats when outdoors, drinking water and seeking shade during hot outdoor play. By embedding these small actions into everyday routines this helps to build lifelong habits, empowering children to care for their own bodies whilst staying safe in the sun. ⛱️

From January 2026, all Australian families eligible for CCS will be guaranteed at least 3 days a week (72 hours per fortnight) of subsidised early childhood education and care.

This landmark change — the 3 Day Guarantee — replaces the Child Care Subsidy Activity Test and means:
✅ Eligible families can save thousands each year
✅ Every child can access vital early learning opportunities
✅ Certainty for families who are working, studying, or looking for work
✅ Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families receive 100 hours per fortnight (up to 5 days a week)
