Eltham South Preschool is a warm and caring place where your children will enjoy learning through play in a nurturing and stimulating environment. Our experienced and committed teachers and assistants provide innovative play-based education programs. Our Preschool allows your children to take their first steps in this exciting stage of their education and development. The program is developed in a

ccordance with the State and National frameworks, and is delivered by qualified and experienced staff. Activities are carefully chosen to build each child’s confidence, independence and sense of belonging. As well as structured activities, children are given time to initiate their own play and our teachers adapt the program in response to children’s interests and ideas. For many children, kindergarten is their first experience outside the home without their parents being present. For others, childcare, friends or family has given them the experience of being away from parents. Our staff give careful thought to provide a safe, happy and relaxed environment that caters for the educational needs and development of all children in our care. Eltham South Preschool has a unique open plan building and an expansive outdoor space making it the perfect place for structured play and self-initiated discovery. Outdoor play is valued and children are encouraged to explore the outdoor play area and engage with the natural world. Our programs help each child develop skills for a smooth transition to school and a successful education. Families play a big part in making it such a special place. Parents can help during kinder sessions and there are times when parents, grand parents and special friends are invited along to join the class. We have events for families throughout the year: a welcome brunch, working bees and the annual Spring Fete are just some of the ways families meet and stay in touch. Why not come along to our Spring Fete in October to get a feel for the community at Eltham South Preschool.

Today ELAA has launched the I ❤️ My Kinder Teacher campaign.
Right now, Victorian kinder teachers and educators are the most loved – and yet the most underpaid – in the country. This needs to change.

The Victorian Government funds our services 100%, which means only they can fix this. ELAA stands with our members and workforce on the urgent need for fair wages and conditions and calls on the government to fully realise their value.
