ππ₯ Congratulations to our volleyballers at the Victorian Volleyball Schools Cup! π π
CGS had five teams competing (Open Boys, Yr 11 Boys, Yr 11 Girls, Yr 9 Boys, and Yr 9 Girls) in this major event with over 300 teams from 35 schools battling it out on 19 courts non-stop for 5 intense days.
A special shoutout to our Yr 11 Girls, who secured an impressive silver medal, making them the 2nd best team in Victoria!π₯ They displayed incredible skills and determination, going undefeated throughout the tournament. Though they gave it their all in a thrilling Gold Medal match, they narrowly missed the top spot with a 3-1 result. Sue Rice, our Head of Volleyball, described it as an unforgettable match - a true testament to our growth and potential!
For our other teams, this event was a fantastic opportunity to develop their volleyball skills and confidence as they look forward to the Australian Volleyball Schools Cup in December. Despite playing 'out of season' and competing against year-round training teams, our players showed tremendous courage and resilience on the court.
Final placings for the other teams were:
Open boys 7th,
Yr 11 boys 5th,
Yr 9 girls 7th,
Yr 9 boys 9th.
The camaraderie amongst our Caulfield teams was heart-warming. When they weren't in the game, they were cheering each other on with enthusiasm and spirit!
