Today Tommy took us to see his new lambs. We learnt lots from Tony's cousins and got to cuddle the lambs and feed the sheep and lamas. So much cuteness.

Did you know the Castlemaine Mail has a dedicated schools program called - Newshounds? The program enables students at schools across the shire to become journalists and report on all the happenings at their school. The program is now in its 11th year and is proudly supported by DON KR Castlemaine. Here is our first feature page for 2026 by the Elphinstone Primary School Newshounds.

On Friday the JSC hosted a Teddy Bear Picnic. The morning started meeting our special friends, listening to a story then a craft and baking activity. We had lots of fun. Thank you to our JSC for making the day happen.

Day 3 is complete and we're heading home. Today we had another quick go at archery, built a giant Jenga, rode on a raft, completed the low ropes course and a trivia quiz.
Most importantly we completed the Mrs Rolly Roly Roll down the hill. I was worried we wouldn't do it due to the rain but we did it. ☺️

Day 2 of the Grade 3/4 Camp to Lady Northcote started with pancakes and ended with Roast chicken and veggies, followed by a night walk and finishing our movie. During the day we refined our archery skills and played games such as Avalanche and Fruit Salad. There was a game called Robin Hood but not one child knew he was - guess what we're reading next week! Then, we burnt off some energy with Orienteering before meat and salad rolls for lunch. Next, we sailed the dam in canoes and finally we made damper (well attempted too - we just got messy and sticky really, which was lots of fun!). It was a big day.

Day 1: 3/4 Camp Lady Northcote
We arrived safe and sound on the bus, settled into our rooms and had our first 2 activities. The first was the flying fox which was so much fun. It was tricky getting photos as well as doing the ropes. I did capture the awesome team work from our students assisting in pulling their peers up. The second was Frisbee Golf. Other than a student using me as a target it was a bit of fun. We didn't play it the traditional way but we had lots of laughs! We've now washed off the mud and are getting ready for pasta for tea.

At our student focused assembly today we had the privilege of listening to one of our students share their guitar skills. So awesome.
