Sometimes, the hardest thing for a young person to say is, β€œCan we talk?”

When something happens online, knowing they can turn to a trusted adult can make all the difference.

Talk. Listen. Support.

πŸŽ‰ We celebrated our Sports Day at Bridgestone Athletics Track on Wednesday and it was a huge day for our staff and students! There were a variety of Athletics events and Novelty events organised for our students to participate in. The students had a ball playing bubble soccer, sumo wrestling, sprints, high jump and more!

Well done to all students for their incredible spirit and sportsmanship. Congratulations to students who placed 1st, 2nd or 3rd in our athletics events - these students might have made our Zone Athletics Team.

Thank you to all the staff for completing jobs on the day - this day wouldn't happen without the amazing efforts from our staff members. 🌟

A final congratulations to Torrens who were the winning house on the day! πŸ†

🎨✨ Celebrating the A in STEAM! ✨🎨

To celebrate the beginning of National STEAM Week, our Visual Arts students had the exciting opportunity to take part in a special Carclew Visual Arts Incursion!

Students shared their artworks with the Carclew team, discussed their creative processes and explored what it means to be a practising artist. They also learnt more about the exhibition process, careers in the arts and opportunities available to young artists.

πŸ–ΌοΈ 1855 Schools Exhibition – The In-Between

We are thrilled to announce that our students will be showcasing their artwork in the upcoming 1855 Schools Exhibition: The In-Between!

πŸ“… 17th September – 24th October

The exhibition celebrates the creativity, ideas and perspectives of young artists as they respond to the theme β€œThe In-Between.”

This exciting opportunity highlights the important role of Art in STEAM, encouraging students to think creatively, communicate ideas, experiment, problem-solve and develop their own artistic voices.

We are incredibly proud of our Visual Arts students and excited to celebrate their creativity as we kick off National STEAM Week! πŸŽ¨πŸ”¬πŸ’‘βœ¨

πŸ“’ We are excited to share some extraordinary news with our Pinnacle College community!

This year, Pinnacle College students have achieved an incredible double success at the 2026 SASTA Oliphant Science Awards, receiving the prestigious Rowe Scientific Emerging Talent Award in both the Primary and Secondary categories.

The Rowe Scientific Emerging Talent Awards are presented to the two best Primary and two best Secondary entries, making them among the most significant recognitions for emerging young scientists.

πŸ† Rowe Scientific Emerging Talent Award (Primary) β€” Selim Farukshin

Our Year 6 student, Selim Farukshin, has received a Rowe Scientific Emerging Talent Award for his innovative "Drink from Air" project.

He was also recognised through the Rowe Scientific Regional Science & Engineering Awards. Selim's project explores collecting water from atmospheric moisture, inspired by the Namib Desert beetle's ability to collect water from fog. His invention uses a cooled metal plate to condense water vapour, while an Arduino system monitors temperature and humidity, calculates the dew point and controls the device.

This follows Selim's outstanding success last year, when his Smart Greenhouse project won first place in South Australia in the Models & Inventions category.

His latest achievement demonstrates his passion for science, programming, engineering and solving real-world problems through innovation.

πŸ† Rowe Scientific Emerging Talent Award (Secondary)

We are equally delighted to celebrate our Year 10 student, from Golden Grove campus, who received the prestigious Rowe Scientific Emerging Talent Award for her outstanding "BIOFLOW-M Adaptive Modular Biogas Recovery System".

She was also recognised with the Rowe Scientific Regional Science & Engineering Award and the COβ‚‚ and Greenhouse Gas Reduction Award, highlighting the scientific significance and environmental impact of her work.

A Remarkable Double Achievement!πŸŽ‰

What makes this year's results particularly special is that Pinnacle College has received the Rowe Scientific Emerging Talent Award and Rowe Scientific Regional Science & Engineering Award in both categories β€” Primary and Secondary.

Selim Farukshin β€” Primary (Year 6)
Secondary Student (Year 10)

More Pinnacle College Success!🌿

We are also delighted to celebrate our students, who have been recognised as prize winners in the Year 9–10 "Models & Inventions" category with their "Geodesic Wind Turbine" project.

Their final placing will be announced at the official awards ceremony on 16 October, and we look forward to celebrating their achievements even further.
A huge congratulations to Selim & others on their outstanding achievements!

We are incredibly proud of all our students and look forward to celebrating them at the 2026 SASTA Oliphant Science Awards ceremony on 16 October.

What an incredible year for STEM at Pinnacle College!πŸ”¬ 🌟

First Nations Year 7 Symbolism Workshop

Our Year 7 students recently participated in a First Nations Symbolism Workshop with First Nations artist David Booth. Students explored how First Nations communities have used visual language, storytelling and symbolism to communicate stories, knowledge, identity and connection to Country.

Building on their learning with David, students have been busy exploring and combining some of the symbols introduced during the workshop with their own contemporary symbolism. They have used these ideas to develop artworks that communicate a personal story, experience or connection.

Through this process, students have been able to explore how symbols can have meaning and how visual language can be used to communicate ideas and stories without words.
