Mermaid Physie

A physie class fuses dance styles of jazz, contemporary, hip hop and aerobic dance in the one lesson. Our mission it to empower girls for life

Our innovative choreography is upbeat, modern, fun, and great for all ages from 3 years to ladies. Physie dance classes are a combination of basic ballet and contemporary, aerobic warm ups, standing and floor exercises, hip hop and jazz dance, with routines performed to modern music. All ages can enjoy physie, with fun-filled classes promoting flexibility, coordination, rhythm and teamwork. Physical Culture aims to build confidence, good posture, fitness, strength, and flexibility through exercise. Physie has been established in Australia for130 years, with some 150+ clubs running across the country. Mermaid Beach Physical Culture is now in it's 20th year, with over 150 members ranging from 3 years right through to 60 and over. We are extremely proud that so many of our foundation members are still active members of the club today. We hold classes at Elanora and beginners are always welcomed. With classes just $15 a week plus annual registration and insurance fee, Mermaid physie is a great value dance class for all ages! Only one leotard or performance wear is required for the years competitions and there are no expensive costumes or footwear. Physie is a great low-cost dance class that keeps girls entertained all year round with the excellent variety of routines on offer. And most of all, physie is fun!
