✨Engage✨ Congratulations to Tyrell!
On Friday, 11 September, Tyrell participated in the annual Braille Reading and Writing Competition at the Queensland Tennis Centre, competing in the Year 3 and 4 Reading and Writing category.
This year, Tyrell's age category had the highest number of competitors, with students travelling from far and wide to take part. The category also included a remote competitor, Lilly from Tasmania, who achieved first place in both the Reading and Writing competitions. We are proud to share that Tyrell achieved 2nd place in the Writing Competition, a fantastic accomplishment that reflects his dedication, hard work, and perseverance.
During the event, students also had the opportunity to hear from Raissa Martin, Australian Goalball player and Paralympian, who shared her inspiring journey and encouraged students to pursue their goals and embrace opportunities such as the Paralympic Games.
Tyrell was also given the opportunity to try holding a professional camera, thanks to a kind cameraman who was filming the event for Braille House. From the huge smile on his face, it was clear he thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated the experience.
Well done, Tyrell, on your outstanding achievement! 👏🎉 We are incredibly proud of you and all the effort you put into this competition. 💙
