St Malachy's School, Edenhope The Official page for St Malachy's School, Edenhope St. Malachy's School has a rich history of educating students in Edenhope and its surrounds.

With a focus on holistic growth, we aim to provide students from Foundation to Year Six with not only a high quality academic education, but also the opportunity and support to foster their social, spiritual, physical and psychological growth. Founded by the Sisters of Mercy, St. Malachy's School took its name from the canonised saint, St. Malachy O'Morgair, of Ireland. Ordained as a priest at the

age of 25, St. Malachy devoted his life to Catholicism. Inspired by St. Malachy's work and the Catholic faith, the Sisters of Mercy opened the school on the 8th of January, 1953.

​St. Malachy's School acknowledges the five traditional owner groups of this land; the Wotjobaluk, Wergaia, Jupagulk, Jaadwa and Jadawadjali people. We recognise the important and ongoing place that all Indigenous people hold in our community. We pay our respects to the elders, both past and present, and commit to working together in the spirit of mutual understanding and respect for the benefit of the broader community and future generations.

Everyone is asked to wear your craziest socks to school - bright, patterned or mismatched.

50c donation- prize for the wackiest socks in each room. (We will make some cool socks in art next week so no need to buy any!)

And that’s the year wrapped up!!!

On Tuesday night we celebrated the End of Year Mass and formally said goodbye to our Year 6 cohort and leaving families. On Thursday we celebrated our last day with students for 2025. We shared many smiles, memories and a few tears.

We would like to thank our beautiful school community for all of their support and involvement throughout the year.

We wish all our leaving students and families all the best in the next chapter of their lives and wish everyone a safe and merry Christmas! 🎄
