Our students and staff achieve excellence through academic, community and sporting achievement with acknowledgement of all individuals. Eden Marine High School is a comprehensive, rural and proud DEC public school on the far south coast of NSW. Our school represents the diverse communities from which the school draws its enrolments. The school's geographical drawing area ranges from Tura Beach (35

kilometres to the north), through to Wonboyn (33 kilometres to the south) and Wyndham (42 to the west). The majority of students come from the coastal towns of Merimbula, Pambula and Eden. Marine education is an important feature of the school’s curriculum and culture. The school fosters constructive and productive links across the community to maximize learning opportunities for its students and to support its positive contribution to the community. Vocational education programs and a recently established Trade Training Centre are features of the diverse curriculum that offers students a wide range of experiences in classrooms and in the surrounding community and environs of the school. Eden Marine High School is a proud and active member of the Sapphire Coast Learning Community. Eden Marine High School is a Centre for Excellence and participates in the National Partnerships Low SES program and Country Area Program. The school’s mission statement is to “assist each student to reach their potential” and emphasizes the core values of Respect, Responsibility and Resilience. These values are taught explicitly in the classroom and are evident in a variety of contexts around the school with the aim of improved learning outcomes for all our students. Eden Marine High has a strongly supportive school community including a small but active P&C and a variety of community partnerships programs. The school has developed and implemented a number of initiatives to strengthen relationships with the Eden Aboriginal community and has received a 2012 South Coast Region Excellence of Aboriginal Education Award. The school is located in close proximity to Aslings Beach and Lake Curalo with extensive playing fields and excellent facilities. Rules of Engagement

The Year 9 outdoor education class has continued their RFS cadets training over the past few weeks.

Students have been learning about buoy walls and drafting, while also developing hose & pump operations and leadership skills.

It's fantastic to see their enthusiasm, confidence and skills continue to grow.

Last weekend two of our students, Raine and Kendra, participated in MUNA 2026 - the Model United Nations Assembly - in Canberra.
It was a huge weekend for these students who were one of 22 teams (more than 60 students) from across Australia who came together to debate 6 UN (United Nations) resolutions. Our students represented the country of Afghanistan with fervour, conviction and passion and held their own against some very experienced teams. The event was held at the Museum of Australian Democracy (Old Parliament House) in Canberra, and the opportunity to spend two days debating motions in the House of Representatives Chamber was a very special experience. The students all stayed at the same accommodation, enjoying all meals together across the weekend including a formal dinner on Saturday night with a special guest speaker - Janice Rodrigues, the Australian Youth Representative to the United Nations. Thanks to our students who did an incredible job representing EHMS (and the country of Afghanistan!), to our local Merimbula and Pambula Rotary Clubs for sponsoring our students to attend and to the Rotary Club of Canberra Sunrise for hosting this fantastic event.

Congratulations to Maeve Kennedy who was one of the successful applicants from 90 schools State wide to attend the UNSW last Term for a week of Work Experience in the Engineering field. Each afternoon Maeve was required to do a one A4 page report on the day’s activities. As part of her group, Maeve went to the Warringah Freeway upgrade, Rouse Hill Hospital, Moorebank Intermodal Precinct and the UNSW Water Research Lab to see what part engineers play on these sites. It was a great experience to mix with students from other schools and make new friendships.
