✨📚 A Symphony of Stories 📚✨
This Book Week, our experiences are filled with stories, imagination and little worlds waiting to be explored.
We began with some of our favourite stories — The Three Little Pigs, Where is the Green Sheep? and The Very Cranky Bear — bringing them to life through small world play, natural resources and open-ended materials.
But the real magic happened when the children began to make the stories their own. ❤️
Our Very Cranky Bear world was transformed into something completely different when the children introduced dinosaurs, changed the landscape and created their very own prehistoric adventure! 🦖🌿
And then came the magnetic house! 🏡✨
Using our magnetic tiles and resources from our story experiences, the children worked together to create their own house. What began as an experience inspired by books became something completely their own.
And this is what I love most about this year's theme — A Symphony of Stories. 🎶📖
Just like a symphony is made up of many different sounds coming together, children's stories are made up of different ideas, characters, experiences and imaginations. One story inspires another, a familiar character finds themselves in a new adventure, and suddenly the children are creating stories that belong to them.
Of course, dressing up for Book Week is always SO much fun! 🥰 But for me, Book Week is about something even deeper — the joy of books, the love of stories and giving children the opportunity to discover that they can be storytellers too.
