Today we say goodbye to our wonderful Mr Erik as he finishes his journey with us at Milestones Early Learning Eatons Hill.

Mr Erik has been a valued member of our team, bringing kindness, enthusiasm, and genuine care to the children, families, and educators he has worked alongside. His positive attitude, dedication, and ability to build meaningful relationships have left a lasting impact on our centre community.

While we are sad to see him go, we are incredibly grateful for everything he has contributed during his time with us. We know he has an exciting future ahead, and we wish him every success and happiness in this next chapter.

🦷😁 Roll a Smile! 😁🦷

As part of Dental Health Week, our children took part in a fun and interactive Roll a Smile activity!

Each child rolled a dice, carefully counted the number of dots, and then glued the matching number of teeth onto their smile. This hands-on experience supported the development of early numeracy skills, including number recognition, one-to-one correspondence, and counting, while also strengthening fine motor skills through gluing and placing each tooth.

Activities like these make learning meaningful and engaging while reinforcing the importance of healthy teeth and positive oral hygiene habits.

Fine Motor Fun with Pom Pom Drop! 🟢🟡🔴

Our Senior Kindy children have been busy strengthening their fine motor skills through a fun and engaging Pom Pom Drop activity! Using their hands and fingers to carefully pick up and place the pom poms into the tubes encouraged hand-eye coordination, finger strength, concentration, and problem-solving.

Activities like this help build the foundational skills children need for everyday tasks such as drawing, writing, using scissors, dressing independently, and self-care routines.

It was wonderful to see the children’s determination, excitement, and sense of achievement as they explored, experimented, and celebrated their success. Learning through play is always the best kind of learning! 🌈✨

🚒 A Big Thank You to Our Local Firefighters! 🚒

Today we had a very special visit from our local firefighters! 🚒👨‍🚒👩‍🚒

The children were so excited to explore the fire truck, learn about the important role firefighters play in keeping our community safe, and discover what to do in the event of an emergency. There were plenty of smiles, curious questions, and unforgettable moments as the children got an up-close look at the equipment and even had the chance to chat with the firefighters.

Experiences like these help build children’s confidence, increase their understanding of community helpers, and support important conversations around fire safety.

A huge thank you to our wonderful local firefighters for taking the time to visit us and make today such a memorable learning experience. We truly appreciate everything you do for our community! ❤️🚒

💤 Safe Sleep is Our Priority 💙

At Milestones Early Learning Eatons Hill, the safety and wellbeing of every child is at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to providing a safe, nurturing sleep environment where children can rest peacefully while families have confidence knowing they are being closely supervised.

To strengthen our sleep and rest practices, we have a dedicated Nominated Sleep Supervisor on duty each day. This educator wears a clearly identifiable Sleep Supervisor lanyard, making it easy for educators, families and visitors to know who is responsible for overseeing sleep and rest practices at any given time.

Our sleep supervision includes:
👀 Visual sleep checks every 5 minutes through the viewing window to monitor each child’s breathing, colour, positioning and overall wellbeing.

🚶 Physical walk-through checks every 10 minutes, where the Sleep Supervisor or an educator enters the sleep room to complete a close observation of every child and document each check.

We also:
💙 Follow each child’s individual sleep routine and family preferences where appropriate.
🛏️ Adhere to current Red Nose safe sleep recommendations.
🌡️ Maintain a safe, comfortable sleep environment.
📋 Record all sleep checks and sleep/rest times throughout the day.
👶 Ensure children are supervised at all times while sleeping or resting.

Having a Nominated Sleep Supervisor wearing a dedicated lanyard provides an extra level of accountability, ensuring there is always a clearly identified educator overseeing our sleep and rest practices and supporting our team to maintain the highest standards of care.

Because every child deserves a safe, restful sleep, and every family deserves peace of mind. 💙

An Egg-citing Milestone! 🐣

What an exciting morning at Milestones Early Learning Eatons Hill! 💛

Our very first chick has officially hatched as part of our Henny Penny Hatching Incursion! The children were filled with excitement and wonder as they witnessed this incredible moment, watching a tiny chick make its way into the world.

Experiences like these provide meaningful opportunities for children to explore the life cycle, develop an appreciation for living things, and foster curiosity through hands-on learning.

We can’t wait to see more of our fluffy little friends hatch over the coming days! Stay tuned for more updates as our hatchling adventure continues. 🐥✨
