Glen Huon Primary School is an Independent Public School located in the suburb of Eaton. Our moral purpose is to Nurture Excellence and Empower Growth.

We are a level 5 Kindergarten to Year 6 primary school with just over 500 students.

Book Week 2026!
✨ BOOK WEEK IS COMING! ✨

We are very excited to announce that we will be celebrating Book Week in Week 10!

Our Book Week Dress-Up Parade will be held on Wednesday 23rd September, starting at 8:40am. Please see attached flyer for the details. All families are very welcome to come along and join in the fun!

The book parade will be for all students, from Kindy to Year 6.

Students can come dressed as any book character they like.

🏆 There will be a book prize awarded in each class for the best dressed!

🎁 We will also have a lucky dip prize for each class! Every student in the class will go into the draw, whether they are dressed up or not, so everyone has a chance to win.

Weather permitting, our parade will once again be held on the basketball courts.

☕ A big thank you to our wonderful P&C, who will have a coffee van available on the morning to help keep everyone fuelled up!

Throughout the week, the library will also have some fun competitions and activities happening as we celebrate the joy of reading and all things books!

We can't wait to see all the wonderful book characters at our parade!

✨ Happy Australian Teacher Aide Appreciation Week! ✨

This week, we want to take a moment to shine a huge spotlight on the incredible Education Assistants (EAs) who are the beating heart of our school community. 💙

Every single day, our EAs go above and beyond to ensure every student feels supported, valued, and capable of achieving their best. Whether they are guiding a student through a tough concept, offering a reassuring smile on a challenging morning, or fostering an inclusive and welcoming classroom environment, their impact is immeasurable.

Their patience, dedication, and compassionate care make a world of difference not just to our students, but to our entire teaching team and school community. We simply couldn't do it without you!

😴 Breaking News: PJ Day was a TOTAL dream (literally)!
It turns out wearing pajamas to school was a little too effective. Our teachers were so ridiculously comfortable they were getting caught snoozing at every given opportunity! Even our student leaders were spotted catching zzz's out on the grass and some poor students were stuck waiting in line while Ms. Bartels took a quick power nap mid-book scan! 📖💤
Unsurprisingly, we’ve already had a flood of requests to make PJ Day a daily requirement!

Lucky for everyone, it’s finally Friday! Time to head home and get some actual rest. Have a fantastic weekend, and we can’t wait to see all our well-rested students back on Monday... back in normal uniform, unfortunately! 😉👕✨

Year 6 Camp ⛺
Our Year 6 students had an incredible time at camp, with three action-packed days filled with adventure, teamwork and plenty of laughs! Students took part in a huge range of activities, including bushwalking, survival skills, cycling, team games, orienteering, archery, mini golf, the giant swing and flying fox. There was something for everyone, with students encouraged to challenge themselves, try new things and support one another along the way.
The fun continued in the evenings with a campfire, spotlight activities and a quiz, giving everyone the chance to relax, enjoy each other's company and have some fun outside of the usual school day.
Of course, the food was also a big hit, with students enjoying plenty of delicious meals throughout the camp! It was fantastic to see the students laughing, working together, stepping outside their comfort zones and making new memories with their friends.
It was a wonderful experience for everyone involved, and we are sure our Year 6 students will look back on their camp as one of the highlights of their primary school years. So many great memories were made! ⛺🌟

Our school photo day is coming!
Every student will receive a personalised flyer to bring home from Kapture Photography containing your child’s unique codes for ordering school photos online.

KEEP YOUR FLYER SECURE!

The unique codes contained on the flyer
will be issued only once.

Order EARLY for sibling photography

Sibling photos can ONLY be ordered online. Once you receive the personalised flyers for your children, it is imperative that you order your sibling photo early to avoid missing out! There is a physical limit in the school schedule to how many sibling photos can be taken. Once the maximum capacity of sibling orders has been reached, no more sibling orders can be placed. If maximum capacity is not reached, sibling orders close 12pm midday sharp, one business day prior to the first photo day. The school or the photographers cannot accept late orders for sibling photography. Please do not ask as your request simply cannot be accommodated.

Order EARLY for discount photo day prices

Order your photos up to 10 calendar days after photo day to receive discount photo day prices. Late orders are handled separately to the school delivery and incur a $30 custom service charge.

Other information

Kapture offer a money back guarantee for any parent who is not fully satisfied with their photo package. Should you have any queries before or after photo day, please check the FAQ’s on the Kapture website. We request that students who are displaying signs of respiratory and / or gastrointestinal illnesses do not attend school specifically to be included in their class photo. Having students with communicable illnesses attend the photography venues puts other students, school staff and Kapture staff at risk – especially those that are already immunocompromised. Students who are unable to attend school photo day can book a studio appointment at our Malaga office to be photographed during school holidays. We appreciate your understanding in this matter. Your school will notify you in a few weeks when team and special group photos are available to view and purchase on the Kapture website. Please note; class, individual and sibling portraits are not available to view online prior to purchase.

All students will be photographed individually on photo day for school administration records AS WELL as included in their class group presentation available for purchase to all families. Should there be any reason why your child should NOT be included in the photo shoot –please contact the school office.
