π 9 YEARS. ONE COMMUNITY. SO MANY VOICES.
Nine years ago, Eastwood Toastmasters began with a simple idea:
People grow when they have a safe place to practise, be heard, receive constructive feedbackβand give it a go.
Since then, we've seen people arrive nervous, curious or unsure of themselves and gradually discover something they didn't know they had:
confidence.
Not just confidence to give a speech.
Confidence to:
π€ speak up in a meeting
π‘ share an idea
π€ facilitate a conversation
π₯ lead a team
π¬ give and receive feedback
π connect across cultures
π step into new opportunities
And that's why Toastmasters is about much more than public speaking.
Communication is a career skill.
You don't have to be a confident speaker when you arrive.
You don't have to give a speech on your first visit.
You can simply come, watch and listen.
Our first visit is free, participation is optional, and our members aim to provide supportive, constructive feedback as you find your way.
We meet online on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays, 12:00β2:30pm Sydney time/UTC+10, making it easier to join from wherever you are.
And after nine years, we've learned something important:
Growth isn't always a straight line.
There have been highs, lows, changes and challenges.
But people kept showing up.
And that's what makes a community.
β€οΈ Happy 9th Anniversary, Eastwood Toastmasters!
Here's to the people who found their voices, the leaders who emerged, the members who supported othersβand all the people we haven't met yet.
Maybe your voice is next.
