St Kevin's Catholic Primary School Eastwood

Today, Year 2 participated in a special Spirituality Day centred on the Gospel story of the Feeding of the 5,000. We began with prayer and a reflection from Father before taking part in a range of activities exploring the themes of generosity and service. We concluded the day by welcoming parents and carers to help us create snack packs for St Vincent de Paul, putting our faith into action by supporting those in need.

On the 7th of June our St Kevin's school and parish came together for Mass, Eucharistic Procession and a lunch to celebrate Corpus Christi and St Kevin's Feast Day.

The day was a beautiful witness and experience, walking with Jesus and our community in prayer and song.

Our Stage 3 students enjoyed a fantastic day at the Netball Gala Day at Cintra Park-Concord, showing great teamwork and sportsmanship. We are proud of the way they represented our school.

Stage 3 enjoyed a sunny afternoon of oz tag at Morrison Bay Park. Good to see them test their skills in some friendly games against other local schools.

We had a beautiful day of community and celebration on Wednesday. We began with a reverent whole‑school Mass honouring St Kevin and his message of kindness, care for creation, and quiet strength. Our cake stall was a huge success. Thank you to every family who baked, donated, or supported.

Students then moved through a range of reflective activities, exploring the values of St Kevin through creativity, teamwork, and gratitude. A joyful day filled with faith, fun, and community spirit.

Our students had a fantastic day at the Conference 2 Football Championships, representing our school with pride, determination and outstanding sportsmanship.

The boys played some excellent football throughout the day and were unlucky not to come away with a few more results. The girls remained undefeated, showcasing incredible teamwork and skill, and were unlucky to miss out on the finals by just 3 points.

We are so proud of the way all students conducted themselves both on and off the field. It was a wonderful day of football, friendship and school spirit enjoyed by all!

Yesterday, our students participated in the Year 6 Mission Day, spending time learning about the important work of St Vincent de Paul and how we can support those in need within our community.

As part of the day, students created food hampers, heartfelt cards, candles and prayers for those experiencing hardship. Through these kind acts of service, they learned that even small gestures of kindness can bring comfort, dignity, and hope to others.

We are grateful for the leadership of our Year 6 students and for the opportunity to live out our faith through compassion, generosity and service.

We were delighted to have Mr Trenton Brown, Mayor of Ryde, visit our school and read Luna Roo: the Kangaroo Baller for National Simultaneous Story Time yesterday. Students from Year 3 and 6 had the opportunity to ask questions about leadership and discussed the qualities demonstrated by Luna Roo in the book.

This also marked the launch of our schools’ Readathon. We can’t wait to hear about all the places your child explores when reading.
