A Night at Rosemount 🎢

Our student musicians delivered an incredible evening of live music at Rosemount Hotel, featuring performances from Trinity College Swing Bands I & II, The Sky Watchers, Missing Time, Suns of Icarus, and a special duet by our Year 12's.

Thank you to all the staff, friends and families who came along to support these emerging local musicians. 🎸

Smoking Ceremony πŸ–€πŸ’›β€οΈ

Our Year 8's have been learning cultural appreciation and empathy during their Building Bridges classes this term.

Mr Walley has been discussing aspects of First Nations culture and allowing students to develop greater understanding of the oldest continuing culture in the world.

Last week, the Year 8's were treated to a traditional smoking ceremony performed by Jayden Boundry. Jayden is a proud Noongar and Badimaya Yamatji man who is an expert in Noongar language and provided the students with even more karditijin (knowledge) regarding his culture.

Mentorship is an important part of the Trinity journey, building connection, confidence and a strong sense of belonging from the earliest years. πŸ’™πŸ’š

Across the Junior School, students are supported by older peers who guide, encourage and lead by example.

Our Year 4 boys are supported by Year 10 mentors, while Year 5 students begin building meaningful relationships with their Year 9 mentors. These connections help shape both academic and personal growth.

In Year 6, leadership continues to develop, with Prefects learning directly from our Year 12 student leaders and contributing to the life of the College.

At Trinity, your personal growth is strengthened by the people who walk alongside you.

Despite the wild weather, it was wonderful to see so many members of our Trinity community come together for Trinity Sunday Mass. πŸ’™πŸ’š

In celebration of Pentecost Sunday, Trinity Sunday invites us to reflect on the importance of faith, community and connection in our lives.

Following Mass, families gathered in the Staff Lounge to share food and conversation. Thank you to everyone who brought a plate and helped create such a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

We are grateful to all who braved the storms to join us, it was a showcase of the strength of our College community. πŸ™

Trinity College was honoured to serve as the lead school for the annual Aboriginal Veterans Commemorative Service at the State War Memorial in Kings Park as part of National Reconciliation Week.

The service pays tribute to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander veterans who have served Australia in conflicts from the Boer War through to the present day, while also acknowledging the historical lack of recognition many experienced following their service.

Our First Nations students played a significant role throughout the ceremony, sharing cultural performances and helping honour the stories of Aboriginal veterans whose contributions and sacrifices are now being formally recognised. Through research, storytelling and engagement with veterans’ families, our students helped ensure these important histories are remembered and shared with future generations.

We are incredibly proud of the respect, leadership and care shown by our students as they contributed to such a significant occasion. Lest we forget. β€οΈπŸ–€πŸ’›

Last week our Year 9 Becoming Men students were joined by peers from Mercedes College for an important conversation on consent.

Led by Trinity English teacher and qualified sexologist Ms Annika Holland, this was the second year TC has hosted these sessions.

It was encouraging to see so many students engaged and beneficial for both schools to work together and take part in readings and discussions.

Trinity is proud to include these sessions into our curriculum, helping to guide students to grow into respectful and compassionate people and provide them with the tools to be informed. πŸ’šπŸ’™

Humanities Week at Trinity brought learning to life through a week filled with history, culture and curiosity. πŸŒπŸ“š

Students took part in a range of engaging experiences, from The Amazing Trinity Race and the Year 7 Lego Landmark Challenge to the Medieval Game Fair and a lively staff Gladiator Arena showdown.

A highlight for our Year 9 students was hearing from John Button, whose powerful story provided important insights into justice, resilience and the human impact of legal systems.

Humanities Week reinforces that learning extends beyond the classroom, creating opportunities for students to think critically and connect with the world around them. πŸ’™πŸ’š
