Book Week Celebration: Symphony of Stories

Our Book Week celebration was a hit! The school became a magical world of characters, brought to life by students and staff. The theme, “Symphony of Stories,” celebrated the diversity of tales that inspire and unite us.

From dino’s to heroes, each character added to our symphony, showing how stories have the power to connect.

Activities throughout the week included book readings, storytelling, and a costume parade. It was a memorable week of laughter, learning, and shared love for stories.
Thanks to everyone who made this event a success.

We look forward to celebrating book week magic for years to come. 📚🪄

🎉 Congratulations to our Year 6 Debating Team! 🎉

Abigail H, Hannah A, Aleena J and Jonah B proudly represented St Patrick's in their debate against Our Lady Star of the Sea, Terrigal, and came away with a fantastic victory! 🏆

Their confidence, teamwork and persuasive arguments on the topic "Children today have it easier than people 50 years ago" impressed all involved.

Well done to our talented debaters and thank you to Miss Richardson for her support and guidance. 💚💛 Proud To Be St Patrick’s

Book Week is just around the corner — Week 7 will be here before we know it! Have you started thinking about your book character costume yet? 🎭📖

Our teachers have already chosen their “Symphony of Stories” titles and have begun gathering the all-important bits and pieces for their costumes. We can’t wait to see their creative ideas come to life!

We’re also excited to announce that the Book Fair has been confirmed for the Infants Library this year. In the meantime, we’ve already begun enjoying the shortlisted books during our library lessons and discovering some wonderful new stories together.

It’s definitely Book Week Term, and the excitement is building! 🎶📚✨

It's fantastic to see our Year 4 and Year 5 students enjoying their Subway Friday lunches! 🌱🥪

Not only are students enjoying a tasty lunch, but they have also enthusiastically embraced our recycling initiative by sorting and recycling their packaging. Every small action helps make a big difference, and our students are doing their part to build a more sustainable future and reduce the amount of waste that ends up in landfill.

We are proud to see such positive environmental habits being developed and celebrated within our school community. Keep up the great work, Year 4 and 5!

Last Friday, our school community proudly came together to celebrate NAIDOC Day, honouring the histories, cultures and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Our First Nations students led a meaningful liturgy, sharing their family backgrounds and the aspects of their culture they are most proud of. Throughout the day, students engaged in a range of cultural learning experiences, including activities with Rumbalara Environmental Education Centre, Dreamtime stories shared by our First Nations students, presentations from Year 6 students about influential First Nations Australians, Indigenous-inspired visual arts, and traditional games in PE.

It was a wonderful day of learning, connection and celebration, enriching our understanding and appreciation of First Nations cultures across our school community.
