WHO AM I?
My name is Jess Garrett and i currently play in first grade for the Central Coast Mariners Academy. My love for football started in 2010 when I was welcomed into a mixed team at Terrigal united. Since then I have progressed to NPL football starting when I was 15 for the CCMA, followed by playing for North Shore Mariners, NWS Koalas, northern tigers and now full circle back at the Mariners. I was also fortunate enough to have been selected to attend a young Matilda’s camp at 17.
Since graduating High School at Central Coast Sports College I have completed a Sports diploma specialising in football, Mini Roos cert, skill training cert and have just been accepted through the NSW football legacy program to do my C diploma in February.
In 2022 I was fortunate enough to be an assistant coach at the first NAIDOC cup where I caught a glimpse of how it felt to coach my own team. This year brought a lot of opportunities where I was able to coach my own team at the NAIDOC Cup. Following this, I was given the opportunity to head coach the u12s Northern Tigers Gsap while also coaching the Central Coast Grammar school u13s in the ISA competition.
After a huge year of coaching and seeing the impact of the WWC towards young (female) players, football in Australia and especially for women are just beginning.
I have decided to take that next step in my career as I want to continue using my knowledge and experience of the game. By providing footballers with all the right tools and resources, so they can be the best player they can be.
