Happy Book Week! 📚✨🎭

We’ve had such a fun start to Book Week this morning, with some of our children and educators dressing up as their favourite book characters! 📖💛

There were plenty of smiles, creativity and a little bit of bookish magic happening around Stepping Stones. We can’t wait to see more wonderful costumes and celebrate our love of books throughout the week! 🌈📚

We’re sharing an opportunity for families with children aged 3-6 years who may be interested in taking part in a research study being conducted through Edith Cowan University (ECU).

The PhD research explores how young children experience and develop physical literacy through everyday outdoor play. 🌿🏃‍♀️🛝

What would participation involve?
• 10–16 observation sessions over a period of up to 3 months
• Sessions lasting approximately 60 minutes (maximum 90 minutes)
• Observations of children engaging in their usual outdoor play - the researcher does not direct or organise the play
• Approximately 3–4 short interviews with parents/carers about their child’s play experiences.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar has wriggled his way into K1! From our sensory experience to our very own little restaurant, the children stepped right into the story through hands-on play, imagination and discovery. 🍎🍓🍐🍌

Today we had a very special visit from Poppy Bubbles, who brought plenty of bubbles, laughter, wonder and circus fun to our centre today! 🤩

The children were completely captivated by the performance, enjoying all the exciting tricks, bubbles and surprises along the way. 🫧🎪

There were lots of smiles, giggles and very excited little faces as we watched the magic unfold!

A big thank you to Poppy Bubbles for such a fun and memorable morning! 💛

Mondays = Kidz 'n Sport Fremantle 🏃‍♀️⚽️💛

Every Monday, the Kidz ’n Sport team join us at Stepping Stones for an action-packed session filled with movement, fun and plenty of opportunities to get active!

Despite the wet weather today, our children were ready to get involved, trying new activities, building confidence and developing their coordination and gross motor skills, all while having fun with their friends. 🙌

Because learning doesn’t always happen sitting still… sometimes it happens while we’re running, jumping, kicking, throwing and laughing! 💛

Last Friday, we welcomed Cassie from Bright Now Oral Care for a fun and interactive dental hygiene incursion! Through an engaging story about “sugar bugs”, the children learned why brushing our teeth is so important and how we can help keep our smiles healthy. 🪥🐛

The children loved practising their brushing and flossing skills using the toy teeth and toothbrushes, before finishing with a fun tooth-brushing song! A big thank you to Cassie for making learning about dental health so much fun! 💛
