Children’s Chorus for Opera Australia's production of CARMEN

Opera Australia & the paranaple arts centre are on the lookout for young North West Coast singers to join them on stage for their Devonport performance of CARMEN.

Up to 24 children, aged nine to fourteen are needed to form a chorus to accompany Australia’s national Opera Company on their show at the Town Hall Theatre on 29 June

This program will offer students a memorable and unique experience to perform with some of the country’s finest professional opera singers and musicians.

North-West Coast Talent Call Out

What a year 2020 has been! So many of our beloved events have been altered, postponed, and cancelled and Burnie Carols has also had to adapt. This year our Burnie Carols Program is moving to an online format, and we are encouraging not just the Burnie community but everyone across the North-West, Tasmania and beyond, to meet in small and safe “satellite” gatherings - adhering to the relevant restrictions for wherever they will be watching - to connect this Christmas season and watch together.

With this move online, we are looking to shake up – and expand – our Precarols Program. Instead of just one hour of local performers as we have at the Burnie Park, we are inviting submissions of items from all over the North West Coast of Tasmania to take part in the program. Schools, groups, bands, clubs, choirs and indiviuals are all welcome to participate.

The Precarols Program will run in the weeks leading up to Carols Night, showcasing a number of entries each week via our social media platforms as we countdown to the 2020 Burnie Carols Online.
