There is too many items at this stage to individually identify pieces so please come have a look. Items are available today and tomorrow between 11am and 4pm. Or contact me to arrange a time.

☆☆1988 CAPSULE NOTICE☆☆
As there is lots of items in these capsules and belong to many different people, we are asking if you can collect your items next Monday (13 Dec) or Tuesday (14 Dec) between 11:00am and 4:00pm. Please sign in at the front office and you will be directed to where the items are located. If these times do not suit you, please contact me to arrange an alternative. Please respect the times and days listed. The school has many major events happening and do not want interruptions during those events.

I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their contribution to our 50th anniversary school fete on the weekend.
☆Thank you to all our food trucks, stall holders, entertainment providers, and essential services which attended our fete.
☆Thank you to our community for helping us celebrate this wonderful milestone.
☆Thank you to all the staff at Gibbs Street Primary School for presenting our school in an accumulate condition for all to see and those staff members who put in extra time and effort on art displays, photo history, and memorabilia displays.
☆Thank you to all students who helped clean up, set up, and pack away.
☆Thank you to all our volunteers who always give their time to helping with any task.
☆Thank you to our Choir and band for their performance.
☆Thank you to our sponsors.
☆Thank you to the City of Canning Community Grants Program.
☆Thank you to the 50th committee members.
☆AND THE BIGGEST THANK YOU TO BELINDA AND TARA WHO HAVE SPENT COUNTLESS HOURS PLANNING, BOOKING, ORGANISING, DELEGATING, AND COMPLETING THE RIDICULOUS AMOUNTS OF PAPERWORK JUST TO GET APPROCAL TO RUN THE FETE!!!

MAPS AND INFO FOR THE DAY! 🎉
The Gerard Street Gate opens at 9.00am, Opening Ceremony starts at 10.00am near the Old Undercover Area. Our choir and intrumental students will be performing before and after the ceremony.
All the students have completed a piece of Artwork and these will be on display in the Undercover Area.
The Library will display all the History, Photos, Maps and all the past and present Time Capsules.
All the Classrooms will be open from 10.30am to 2.00pm for viewing and there will be loads of fun and entertainment for all.
The Celebration Tree is up and looking wonderful with all the Donor Leaves sparkling in the sun! More leaves can be purchased for the Tree from the GSPS Stall near the Tree at the Fete.
The parking will be limited so walk, bus, train or car pool to the Fete.
Please see attached a Fete Map and Program for you to view and remember to scan the WA Safe App when you enter through the gate.

☆1996 Letter Time Capsule☆
We have uncovered the letters from 1996 your parents (or you) wrote for you and they await your collection from the School Library at the Fete. If you are unable to attend the Fete, please let us know and we can arrange for the collection (or mailing) of your letter at an alternative time.

***UPDATE*** Capsules will be opened at the fete on the 13th November at approximately 10:30am (during our official opening ceremony). The contents of the capsules will then be placed on display. You will be able to register your information for any of your items contained within the capsules and will receive an email or text message at a later date for the collection of item/s. No items will be available for collection before or at the fete. The capsules are still sealed shut and will only be opened at the fete, not before.
Thanks to the father and son team -Peter and Kevin, the 1988 Bicentennial capsules have been located!! Thanks too to Carol (Kevin’s mum) for her location knowledge. We look forward to opening them at the Fete Opening Ceremony.

Our fete is nearly here and we are getting excited 🥳 If anyone has any photos, stories, or memorabilia they would like displayed at the fete, please email [email protected] asap. This isn't limited to students or teachers, though we want yours too. Anyone who lived in or around Gibbs Street in the past, knows history of the area, teachers/staff/students, and families or community members are requested to send in their items as well.
We would also like to thank the City of Canning for providing support through the Community Grant Program.
