Our amazing dance group started the day bright and early. Our trusty bus driver Mr Green didn’t get the silent trip he had hoped for. 🤣📣
The girls have been respectful audience members and loved watching the local talent from other public schools.
Once our turn came for a dress rehearsal we shone on stage. This is where our students showcased their talents, dedication and love of dance! Enjoy the below photos of our dress rehearsal.

SCPS Large Box Donations Needed!

SCPS is kindly requesting donations of large boxes (e.g. TV, Fridge, washing machine boxes) to use as props for our end-of-year concert.

If you have any to donate, please drop them off at the school office between 8:30am - 3:15pm, Monday to Friday.

The ANZAC Day March falls on the Saturday 25th April 2026.

Our school will be participating in the ANZAC Day March this year. All students are encouraged to participate and should meet the Southern Cross supervising staff in front of Dolphin Office Choice in River St, in full school uniform (with hat) at 10:10am for a 10:30am step off. The school will march as a group to the Ballina RSL Club, River Street, where parents/carers are asked to collect their child/children.

Our school is always very proud to march on ANZAC Day to recognise, thank and pay our respects to all servicemen and women both past and present.

We would like to acknowledge and thank four of our school leaders who supported staff at our Kindergarten 2027 Parent Information Night this week.

They were outstanding ambassadors for our school, proudly demonstrating the values that led to them being elected as leaders. Their confidence, kindness and willingness to support others made a wonderful impression on our visiting families.

Thank you also to their parents for supporting them to take part in this valuable leadership opportunity. We are very proud of them!

NAPLAN UPDATE - TECHNICAL ISSUES TODAY

You may have heard that schools across Australia experienced technical difficulties with the online NAPLAN platform today. This was a national issue and not related to our school.

The good news - the issue has been resolved and testing will continue!

Here is our updated testing schedule:

Thursday, 12 March - Year 5 Writing
Friday, 13 March - Year 3 & Year 5 Reading
Monday, 16 March - Year 3 & Year 5 Conventions of Language
Tuesday, 17 March - Year 3 & Year 5 Numeracy

Our Year 3 students completed their writing assessment today as planned - great work, Year 3!

Year 5 students will complete their writing assessment tomorrow.

Congratulations to Charlie, who won second prize in the Youth section of the Coraki Art Prize this past weekend. His painting, titled "Roulette Flyby," impressed the judges and earned him a $100 prize.
We are very proud of Charlie’s creative achievement!
