Still deciding if Delta Institute’s ACM40322 Certificate IV in Animal Behaviour and Training is for you?
We’ve rounded up the top 5 questions from prospective students that might help you make your decision.
1. What practical experience does the course include?
The course includes flexible, real world practical learning, including positive reinforcement trainer observation, veterinary behaviour consultation observation, and one 4 day hands on workshop in Sydney. This blended approach supports skill development while fitting around work and life commitments.
2. Do I need my own dog?
You don’t need to own a dog, but you do need access to at least one dog. For example, some assessments require filming yourself training a dog to learn a new behaviour. Many students work with their own dog, a friend’s dog, or dogs accessed through volunteering or local community boards.
3. I don’t live in Sydney. Can I still do this course?
Yes. The course is mostly online and we have students all over Australia!
There is one compulsory 4 day workshop in Sydney, with dates shared during the enrolment period so you can plan travel. All other practical work is completed locally. Please reach out if you'd like to know the dates for the upcoming workshop.
4. How long does the course take to complete?
The course follows a new shorter 16 month pathway to graduation.
Most students study for around 15 hours per week on average, with flexibility to suit individual circumstances.
5. What if I need extra support or adjustments?
Support is available if you need it. An Individualised Learning and Assessment Plan can be arranged to help with accessibility, learning needs, or wellbeing concerns. Any information you share is treated with care and confidentiality.
