Trust is at the heart of every meaningful relationship.

For us, it is also deeply connected to faith. We want young people to grow in the confidence that they are known, loved and called by God, and that their lives have meaning and purpose.

That understanding shapes the way we educate. Through strong relationships with teachers, mentors, families and peers, students are encouraged to grow in faith, seek guidance, make good choices and place their trust in God, especially when the path ahead is not always clear.

Because when young people know they are deeply loved, they are given a strong foundation from which to grow.

To be known personally is to be seen as more than a result, a year group or a name on a roll.

It is having someone recognise your strengths and challenge you to use them well. It is being encouraged when things are difficult, guided when decisions need to be made and supported as you gradually take greater responsibility for your own growth.

For young people, being genuinely known creates the foundation for trust.

And when students know that the adults around them understand them and want the best of them, meaningful growth can follow.

Teaching is a profession built not only on knowledge, but on relationships, judgement, character and a commitment to the young people entrusted to out care.

Session 2 of I AM A TEACHER brought educators together to connect, reflect and continue the conversation about what it means to teach with purpose.

It was wonderful to see teachers from different schools and stages of their careers sharing ideas, experiences and encouragement with one another.

What do we hope people will one day say about our children?

That they were courageous when something was difficult. Kind when nobody was watching. People of character who lived with purpose.

At Pared, Montgrove and Wollemi offer families a connected pathway through the early years and into primary school.

In Kindergarten and Year 1, boys and girls begin their school journey together in a co-educational Infants environment, building confidence, friendships and strong foundations for learning.

From Year 2, their pathways naturally transition into Pared’s single-sex schools. Girls continue their journey at Montgrove College, where they are supported to grow academically, personally and in character. Boys transition to Wollemi College, where the learning environment is tailored to support the way boys develop, learn and grow.

While their classrooms may change, the approach remains connected — the same commitment to knowing each child personally, partnering closely with parents and supporting their formation throughout their school years.
