Teaching mathematics well can empower students and help them see how it is the symbolic representation of the patterns and processes happening in the world rather than just a subject at school at which you are either good or bad. So many students have a fear of math. With the evidence-based strategies that quality teachers are familiar with, students learn to see the connections between concepts as they learn with understanding. They are put in a position where they are successful, boosting their confidence and developing a growth mindset. They will gradually open up to tackling more complex problems and feel that they have the tools to do so.

Miss V's Learning Space is growing fast and has just a few spots left for individual tutoring during term!

I am organising another creative writing workshop for a small group of six students in Stage 2 and 3. The workshop will run during the second week of the October school holidays, from Monday to Friday for two hours per day. It is designed to make students excited about writing for a purpose and to hand them the tools to succeed both in class and in test conditions making sure all criteria have been accomplished. I teach systematically and explicitly, equipping students so they can be successful.
