Each child rides and is supported at their own level. Days include horse riding, grooming and horse care, plus group activities and games. It's a great mix of skill-building, confidence and time with horses.

• 30-minute lesson: $130
• 1-hour lesson: $195

We love supporting local!

A huge shoutout to the wonderful team at Saddleworld Dural, who always look after us and our horses here at Sydney Hills Horse Riding. Their latest order of handcrafted leather halters looks absolutely incredible, with so much care, quality and attention to detail going into every piece.

We’re very lucky to have such a fantastic local equestrian business looking after all our needs, and we can’t recommend the team at Saddleworld Dural highly enough!

At Sydney Hills Horse Riding Centre, we often talk about Beyond Horse Riding.

Inspired by Annika McGivern’s article, 𝙍𝙞𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙉𝙚𝙧𝙫𝙤𝙪𝙨 𝙎𝙮𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙢: 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙃𝙤𝙧𝙨𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙍𝙞𝙙𝙚𝙧 𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙣𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 (published by Horse Journals), we’re exploring how riding may help regulate the nervous system.

As we follow the horse’s rhythm and focus on balance and movement, horse and rider respond to each other. This may help us feel calmer, more present and better able to regulate our nervous system.

Today we are celebrating the horses who teach us, challenge us, make us laugh and give our riders so many moments to remember.

Across the Southern Hemisphere, 1 August is widely recognised as the Horses’ Birthday, following the standardised birthday convention used in the horse-racing industry. It does not mean every horse was literally born today, but it gives us a lovely reason to celebrate them all together.

To every gentle teacher, cheeky character and much-loved horse at Sydney Hills: Happy Horses’ Birthday!

Pole work uses poles placed on or close to the ground to help riders develop accuracy, rhythm, balance and coordination.
These exercises may look simple, but they allow riders to practise guiding their horse, maintaining a steady rhythm and preparing for each pole with purpose.
