🏉💙 Jersey Day at SPMC! 💙🏉

Today, our school community came together to recognise Jersey Day, with students and staff wearing their favourite sporting jerseys to help raise awareness of the importance of organ and tissue donation. ❤️‍🩹

Jersey Day is inspired by the story of Nathan Gremmo and encourages families to start an important conversation about organ donation and the difference it can make in the lives of others. 💬❤️

It was fantastic to see our community proudly wearing their colours and supporting a cause centred on generosity, compassion and giving others the gift of life. 🙏💚

A special thank you to Richard Gremmo, who joined us today to speak with our College community about the importance of organ and tissue donation and the incredible difference it can make. 💙

💚 A Partnership Growing Together 💛

On Thursday morning, we were delighted to welcome Brother Raj fms, General Councillor for the Institute of the Marist Brothers, to St Patrick’s Marist College. 🙏✨

Our relationship with Brother Raj and the Marist Brothers in India 🇮🇳 has grown over many years, strengthened through our India Immersion Program and the generous welcome extended to our students since 2014.

This partnership continues to grow through our support of the Marist Matriculation School in Trichy . Through initiatives such as our annual Walkathon, our College community is able to contribute in a practical way while deepening the bonds of friendship, solidarity and shared Marist mission between our communities. 💚🙏

Brother Raj’s visit was a wonderful reminder that our Marist family reaches far beyond our own College. 🌏💙 A partnership growing together is one built on relationship, mutual support and a shared commitment to making Jesus Christ known and loved. ❤️

This week, we proudly celebrated National Teacher Assistants’ Week — a wonderful opportunity to recognise the incredible people who make such a difference in the lives of our students. 💚💛

Our Teaching Assistants are an integral part of the SPMC community, working alongside our teachers to encourage learning, build confidence and provide care and support every day. 🌟📚

This morning, our College community gathered in true Marist family spirit to celebrate Father’s Day with a special liturgy and breakfast. 💙🙏

We gave thanks for the fathers, grandfathers and significant men who guide, support and nurture our young people with love and presence.

Our sincere thanks to the P&F Association for generously preparing and serving breakfast, helping make the morning such a warm celebration of family and community. 🍳☕️

🏆 MARIST ORATORY COMPETITION 2026 🏆

On Monday 31 August, our College proudly participated in the 34th Annual Marist Oratory Competition, hosted by Parramatta Marist High School.

Six students represented SPMC across their respective divisions, showcasing their confidence, preparation and exceptional public speaking skills.

A special congratulations to:
🥇 Carl (Year 12) – 1st Place, Senior Prepared Division
🥈 Tinaye (Year 8) – 2nd Place, Junior Division

Adding to the celebrations, SPMC was named the overall winner of the competition, taking home the St Marcellin Trophy for 2026! 🏆

This outstanding result means our College will have the honour of hosting the Marist Oratory Competition in 2027.

Congratulations to all six students for their hard work, commitment and the way they represented our College. What an achievement! 👏🎤

🏆 SPIRIT OF TOM AWARD 2026! 🏆

What an incredible achievement for our students! 🌟

On Sunday, four SPMC teams took part in the Tournament of the Minds competition at the University of New South Wales. After six weeks of preparation, problem-solving and teamwork, our students presented their STEM models and scripts to a panel of four judges.

But the biggest highlight of the day was yet to come… 🎉

From more than 50 schools competing, the judges and tournament organisers select just ONE school each year to receive the prestigious Spirit of ToM Award — recognising a school that stands out for its spirit, teamwork, creativity and positive contribution to the tournament.

We are incredibly proud to announce that SPMC is the recipient of the 2026 Spirit of ToM Award! 🏆💚💛

A huge congratulations to all four teams and to every student involved. Your creativity, collaboration, perseverance and outstanding Marist spirit have made us incredibly proud.

💚 Winter Sleepout | Giving Back 💚

Following our recent Winter Sleepout, the generous donations collected by our students have now been gathered and delivered to Vinnies, helping support people in our local community experiencing hardship and homelessness.

A huge thank you to our students, families and staff for your generosity and compassion. 🙏

For Science, students in Wiyanga have been looking at different environments and learning about the 🌱 plants, 🐾 animals, and natural features that make each environment unique.

Students enjoyed taking a trip to 🌳 Central Gardens Nature Reserve, where they explored the natural surroundings, observed local wildlife 🦜, and identified different plants and habitats.

This provided students with a hands-on opportunity to connect their classroom learning to the real world and develop a greater appreciation for the environment 🌿.

On Friday, our Year 12 students came together for a special day of reflection, connection and celebration following their Trial HSC examinations. 🎓

Students took time to reflect on their growth, achievements and the friendships and relationships that have shaped their journey at SPMC, while looking ahead to the final stages of their Year 12 experience.

The day wrapped up with some friendly competition and plenty of laughs through Arrow Tag and Laser Tag — a great opportunity to build teamwork, strengthen connections and celebrate the incredible journey they’ve shared as a cohort. 💚💛
