🦷✨ Dental Health Week! ✨🦷
We had a wonderful visit from the dentist, who taught the children all about the importance of looking after their teeth through a fun and engaging presentation! 🪥😁
The dentist also took the time to do some gentle check-ups with some of the children, helping them become more comfortable and familiar with visiting the dentist. 💙🦷
Our learning continued with lots of hands-on activities, including practising how to clean our “teeth” and sorting different foods into those that are good for our teeth and those we should enjoy in moderation. 🍎🥕🍭
During NAIDOC Week, the children at Dulwich Hill Early Learning Centre & Preschool have been exploring and celebrating the rich knowledge, traditions, and cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples the world's oldest continuing cultures. 🖤💛
They learned that animals have traditionally provided more than just food. Different animals were also used to make clothing, cloaks, blankets, and other items that helped people stay warm and protected during colder seasons. Every part of an animal was valued and used thoughtfully, reflecting a deep respect for nature and a commitment to caring for Country by avoiding waste.
These learning experiences encourage children to appreciate the importance of sustainability, gratitude, and respect for the knowledge that has been passed down through generations. By exploring First Nations perspectives, we help foster curiosity, inclusion, and an understanding that caring for our environment is a shared responsibility.

Today at Marrickville Rd Preschool, our little learners embraced the spirit of kindness and community as we celebrated pyjama Day! 💙🧸
Dressed in their favourite pyjamas, the children enjoyed a cosy morning together, sipping warm hot chocolate, watching Curious George, and sharing lots of smiles and laughter with their friends. ☕📺✨
More importantly, today was an opportunity to help our children learn about compassion, empathy, and the importance of supporting others. By taking part in Pyjama Day, we're proud to support children living in foster care and raise awareness of the challenges many young people face.
Experiences like these help children build a sense of belonging, strengthen friendships, and understand that even small acts of kindness can make a big difference in our community.
A huge thank you to all our wonderful families for joining us in supporting this meaningful cause. Together, we're helping create a brighter future—one cosy pyjama day at a time. ❤️
🧸 Teddy Bears’ Picnic 🧺✨
Our Teddy Bears’ Picnic was a beautiful day filled with connection, creativity, and meaningful learning. The children shared a picnic with their favourite teddies, created their own bears using loose parts and playdough, explored imaginative play, prepared teddy-inspired treats, and enjoyed cosy story time together.
Through these playful experiences, children developed creativity, communication, fine motor skills, problem-solving, independence, and social connections.
At Marrickville Rd Preschool, we believe every moment of play is an opportunity to learn, grow, and build a lifelong love of discovery. 💛
🌿 Celebrating NAIDOC Week at Marrickville Rd Preschool🌿
This NAIDOC Week, we took time to acknowledge and celebrate the Traditional Custodians of the land where we learn, play, and grow. We recognise the deep connection Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have with Country, culture, family, and community.
Through meaningful conversations, stories, art experiences, music, and hands-on learning, our children explored Aboriginal perspectives in ways that were engaging, respectful, and connected to their everyday experiences.
These moments support children to develop a sense of belonging, respect for others, curiosity about the world around them, and an appreciation of the diverse cultures and histories that make our community special.
At Marrickville Rd Preschool, we believe children learn best through relationships and experiences that are meaningful to them. By embedding culture and connection into our curriculum, we help children build empathy, confidence, and a strong foundation of respect for their community and each other. 🌱
