We love it when we see young members our community contributing to vulnerable people in need. Today Mian School Dubbo dropped in cooked meals . Thank you so much for supporting our community.

Students had an exciting and educational experience attending a careers day at Taronga Western Plains Zoo. They learned about different jobs you can do with animals and in nature, like being a vet, a zookeeper, or working to protect wildlife and the environment. Zoo staff talked about what they do, answered questions, and showed students around the zoo. The day helped students see many career options and inspired them to think about jobs they might want to do in the future.

Dr Justin Coulson is coming to Dubbo College!
Parents and Carers are invited to join us for a special session with Dr Justin Coulson, one of Australia’s leading parenting experts, as he explores the important topic of resilience and how we can support young people to thrive.
Justin is the co-host and parenting expert on Channel Nine’s Parental Guidance, co-host of The Happy Families podcast and author of 11 books. He is passionate about helping families and schools thrive.

Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability (NCCD)

Every year, all schools in Australia participate in the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability (NCCD). The NCCD process requires schools to identify information already available in the school about supports provided to students with disability. These relate to legislative requirements under the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 and the Disability Standards for Education 2005, in line with the NCCD guidelines (2019).

Information provided about students to the Australian Government for the NCCD includes:
* year of schooling
* category of disability: physical, cognitive, sensory or social/emotional
* level of adjustment provided: support provided within quality differentiated teaching practice, supplementary, substantial or extensive.

This information assists schools to:
* formally recognise the supports and adjustments provided to students with disability in schools
* consider how they can strengthen the support of students with disability in schools
* develop shared practices so that they can review their learning programs in order to improve educational outcomes for students with disability.

The NCCD provides state and federal governments with the information they need to plan more broadly for the support of students with disability.

The NCCD will have no direct impact on your child and your child will not be involved in any testing process. The school will provide data to the Australian Government in such a way that no individual student will be able to be identified – the privacy and confidentiality of all students is ensured. All information is protected by privacy laws that regulate the collection, storage and disclosure of personal information. Our whole school came together to celebrate National Tree Day! It was fantastic to see everyone getting involved, helping the environment, and making Mian School a greener place for the future. Well done to all our students! 🌱🌳

Students have come together to make a meaningful difference by cooking and donating meals to Orana Support Services in Dubbo. By working together, they are learning useful skills and showing care for others in their community.
