ENGLISH // Author Tristan Bancks Joins Years 7 and 8!

Years 7 and 8 recently joined popular Australian author Tristan Bancks for a live Zoom session exploring storytelling, inspiration and the writing process.

From overheard conversations and childhood memories to asking “what if?”, Tristan shared how everyday moments can become compelling stories and offered tips for creating strong pace and tension.

Students will now put these techniques into practice as they craft imaginative pieces of their own.

Thank you to Tristan for an engaging and inspiring session!

SERVICE // Cook 4 Good – Students Serving Up Care for Our Community

Each week, student volunteers roll up their sleeves for Cook 4 Good, preparing nutritious, home-style meals for members of our local community experiencing hardship.

The meals are donated to Orana Support Service, who distribute them through their food van in the main street each Wednesday evening, providing practical support and a warm meal to those in need.

More than just a cooking program, Cook 4 Good gives students the opportunity to develop practical life skills, work together as a team, and experience the joy of serving others. Through these simple acts of kindness, they are learning the importance of compassion, generosity, and making a positive difference in their community.

We thank God for the impact of this initiative and pray that it continues to bless both those who receive the meals and the students who so generously give their time to serve.

MAPP // Growing Habitat for the Future

Our Year 7 Macquarie Agriculture Pathways Program (MAPP) students recently planted more than 100 native tree seedlings at the Alkane Resources mine site in Tomingley to help restore habitat for the endangered Glossy Black Cockatoo.

Working alongside Local Land Services NSW , students are helping create a lasting legacy, with the trees providing future food and nesting sites for this iconic native species.
