It is with great sadness that we post the funeral notice for our dear Tai Chi class leader, Mary McGhee.

At DUBBO PERSONALITIES class this week there were two interesting presentations from Zoe Walker (on left),solicitor from the Western NSW Legal Centre on end of life legal planning; and from Danielle Chapman (on right) with BaptistCare on options of home care services and retirement living. Two very important subjects and where to find assistance.

U3A takes the initiative to preserve local history. Well done to Council in taking action on this proposal.

Last Wednesday our Dubbo U3A Current Affairs class welcomed Dr Pat Caldwell, Resident Dr at Dubbo Hospital. Pat spoke about what happens in the Emergency Department including the triage procedure, sequence of investigation and treatment options. He is highly qualified, having graduated with a law degree then making the switch to medicine. Pat also spoke about being prepared for a hospital admission and the importance of having an Advanced Care Directive prepared with your doctor. Attendees very much appreciated Pat’s frank and informative discussion.

Garry Gowans from the Combined Pensioners &. Superannuants Association thanks guest speaker Steve Clayton from DubboU3A at their meeting on Friday 12th June. It was great to see so many CPSA members are on the ball as members of DubboU3A.

The University of NSW’s CogCoach-Health Study Team need our help. They are studying effective ways to improve our brain health as we age. They are looking for > 65 year olds to participate in their study. Check it out on www.unsw.edu.au/research/cogcoach-health/join-the-study
