Praise & Worship Concert: Our Year 5 and 6 students had a fantastic time at the Emmanuel Worship Praise & Worship Concert this week! The energy was amazing, with plenty of singing, music and opportunities for everyone to join in.
Along with the very loud and engaging songs, there were also beautiful moments of quiet reflection and prayer, giving students time to slow down and connect with the messages being shared.
This was a really enjoyable day for everyone. A big thank you to Emmanuel Worship for sharing their music, energy and faith with us.

This morning, we shared a beautiful celebration of the Feast of the Assumption of Mary with St Pius X at St Brigid’s Church, celebrated by Fr Greg. We are very proud of our students for the wonderful reverence and respect they showed throughout the Mass.
A particular thank you to our Choir, who once again sounded beautiful throughout our celebration.

Our Year 3 students had a fantastic time at the St Laurence’s Soccer Gala Day on Friday 7 August!
It was a great day filled with soccer, teamwork and plenty of fun. Our students represented St John’s proudly, showing wonderful sportsmanship, encouraging their teammates and enjoying some friendly competition on the field.
After a busy morning of soccer, everyone enjoyed a well-earned pizza lunch – definitely a highlight of the day! 🍕⚽
Thank you to St Laurence’s and everyone involved in organising such a great event, as well as the parents and helpers who supported our students.
A special thank you to Mrs Mills, Mrs Single, Miss Atlee, Miss Montague and Mr Thomas for accompanying and supporting our Year 3 students throughout the day.

Energy Experiments for Year 6!
As part of our Science learning, Year 6 explored different forms of energy by designing and creating our own plastic bottle cars. Our first challenge was to design and build a car that could move, which was harder than we expected! We experimented with stored energy in a rubber band, wind energy and chemical energy created by mixing vinegar and bicarbonate of soda. Through testing and modifying our designs, we discovered how different types of energy can be used to make things move. It was a challenging but exciting experience that required teamwork, creativity and problem-solving.

SJP students: continuing to live out God's mission in different ways. Our 2G students were excited to visit the residents at the Masonic Village, sharing conversations, smiles and friendship yesterday.
Our Altar Servers have also been generously serving our parish of St. Brigid's - all year! A big thank you to Fr Ha, who was a very popular visitor today after treating our Altar Servers to pizza!
Parents, if your child is in Year 3 or above and would like to become an Altar Server, please contact the St. Brigid's Parish Office. It's a wonderful way to grow in faith while serving our parish community.

Today, our school community gathered to celebrate the Feast of Saint Mary of the Cross MacKillop, Australia's first saint. Through prayer and reflection, we were reminded of Mary's deep faith, her trust in God and her unwavering belief that every child deserved a quality education.
Saint Mary dedicated her life to serving others with compassion, courage and hope, even during difficult times. Her example continues to inspire us to live with kindness, put others first and trust in God's plan.
Thank you to our Year 5 students for leading today's beautiful Liturgy and helping us reflect on how we can all follow in Saint Mary MacKillop's footsteps through our words, actions and faith each day.

Peer Support is Underway at St John's! 🌟
Our students enjoyed their first Peer Support session for the semester, with this term's focus on friendship. 💙
Led by our wonderful Year 6 student leaders, students from Kindergarten to Year 5 worked together through fun activities and meaningful conversations about what it means to be a good friend. They explored ways to build positive friendships, show kindness and include others.
We are so proud of our Year 6 leaders for the care, confidence and encouragement they showed, and of all our students for participating so thoughtfully. We can't wait for our next session!
