Last week, we attended the Day of Action in Martin Place and stood strong with other teachers across NSW to fight for Fair Pay for Community Preschools.

We hope our voices were heard by the Minns Government and Community Preschools and their teachers are respected and valued for the important roles they play in the lives of children, families and the community.

Thank you to all our families for supporting our call to the Minns Government to Start Strong Pay Fair in Community Preschools.

This week, the children had a fantastic time making ! From preparing the ingredients to mixing the batter, they were fully engaged in this hands-on learning experience.
Cooking activities like this support children’s development and lifelong skills in multiple ways:
● Fine Motor Development – chopping, pouring, and mixing ingredients enhance finger strength and hand coordination.
● Language Development – discussing textures, smells, and tastes expands vocabulary.
● Social Development – following instructions, taking turns, working together, and sharing tasks promote teamwork, communication, and patience.
● Early Math & Science Concepts – measuring ingredients and observing changes in texture and colour build foundational STEAM skills.
● Eating Habits – encouraging children to explore and try new foods in a fun way.

The best part? Children got to enjoy the crispy, golden fritters they made and feel proud of their efforts!
