You have numerous Hypnobirthing courses available at your fingertips SO what makes our Hypnobirthing Course different?

✅ The Hypnobirthing Australia™ Program is a uniquely Australian hypnobirthing childbirth education course that draws upon the teachings of many natural birthing advocates from throughout history.

✅ The Hypnobirthing Australia™ course is down-to-earth, doable, and relatable and everything we teach is backed up with current evidence.

✅ Our Positive Birth Program is structured with parents in mind, our classes are typically taught in two full days over a couple of weekends. You also have zoom and online options available.

✅ Parents receive a W E A L T H of training resources when attending the course they are high quality and relevant. We also complement the training with a wealth of online resources for further practice, this can be easily accessed by parents via an app.

✅ We do not shy away from hypnosis – as it is a wonderful tool to help reduce fear and reprogram our subconscious prior to birth. It comes in very handy during the intensity of birth.

The answer is as simple as IT SHOULDN'T!

You make sure to invest in a baby pram, maternity wear, adorable baby clothes, nursery setups, etc. So why shouldn't you invest in your birth?

When investing in The Positive Birth Program you're investing in

✔️ Your birth experience

✔️ The emotions you will feel before, during, and after your birth and labour

✔️ You're investing in the knowledge so you and your birth partner can make informed decisions that are right for you and your baby

The list goes on!

There is a no more important investment that you can make into your preparation for birth than quality and effective childbirth education.

If you buy the wrong style of pram or cot, you can simply sell it and buy a more suitable one… but you can’t re-do your birth!

Our online Hypnobirthing Course is the BEST hypnobirthing education available at a VERY affordable price.

In our Hypnobirthing Australia Positive Birth Program, we teach mothers how to prepare their minds for positive birthing.

One great way to do this is by using affirmations.

Affirmations allow us to repeat positive thoughts to prepare our minds.

4 tips for when you are in the THICK of postpartum.

1. Prioritise Rest
- have an understanding of what NORMAL infant sleep actually looks like.
- when your baby sleeps, try to sleep...if you can't actually sleep, active rest works too.
- go to bed early...if your baby goes to sleep at 8:00pm then aim to go to bed at 8:00pm too.
- you can't control your baby's sleep...but you can control your own activity levels.

2. Ask for Help
- have a list of things that you need help with so if someone offers, you are ready with a response.
- outsourcing counts (meal delivery, a cleaner, a dog walker).
- you get to create your own village...for example part of my village is my robot vacuum.
- not all help is helpful and you are allowed to have boundaries around help.

3. Make Visitors Work for YOU
- this might be literally (see above).
- consider what boundaries you need around visitors.
- if you aren't feeling better after a visit then you did before, you might need to revisit the idea of visitors.

4. Let Go of Expectations (both societal and your own)
- most of our expectations are unrealistic and aren't based on biological norms...having a little understanding of what is normal goes a long way.
- every aspect of your life changes when you have a baby...and dealing with all of that change is a LOT.
- asking for help is not failing.

It is really the same advice that you might hear throughout pregnancy...but if your baby is here, it might hit differently.
Postpartum is a time when you need more hands than you thought and when you need to go slower than you thought.
And that is okay.
Ask for help.
Take it easy.
There is no need to rush back to "normal". Instead take your time adjusting to your new normal.

What helped you when you were in the postpartum trenches?

Visualisation is such a strong tool in labour and birth.
Some mama's love to visualise the ocean during labour with the waves gently drawing them up to the peak of the wave and then slowly floating down the other side of the wave.
Visualisation is one of the topics that l cover in the Positive Birth Program that l teach.

I also cover many other tools and techniques such as :

✔️ Mind-body connection

✔️ How your body functions in labour

✔️ How your hormones work in pregnancy and labour

✔️ Breathing techniques

✔️ Relaxation techniques

✔️ Visualisation for pregnancy and labour

✔️ Acupressure techniques

✔️ Birth preferences

✔️ The birth partner's role

✔️ Choosing a caregiver that is in alignment with you

✔️ Optimal positioning and movement for Labour

DID YOU KNOW?

There are natural ways you can help encourage labour to start.

If you find yourself getting well past your ‘estimated’ due date (remember that a normal pregnancy is considered to be anywhere between 37-42 weeks), Here are some natural ways you can help encourage labour to start.

✔️ Hypnosis - We recommend listening to our Hypnobirthing track - Baby, come out! Or Fear Release (script or track).

✔️ Lots of s*x, Clitorial, and ni**le stimulation - This helps your body naturally release oxytocin. Oxytocin plays a role in initiating labour.

✔️ Acupuncture/ Acupressure - Acupressure is said to increase blood flow to the uterus which influences hormonal responses and stimulates uterine contractions (surges).

✔️ Chiropractic adjustment - This helps open up the muscles and joints of the pelvis which can assist the baby to move down and create pressure against the cervix by stimulating labour.

✔️ Massage - One of the massage techniques we teach in our Positive Birth Program is light touch massage. Light touch massage helps your body naturally produce oxytocin which we know helps initiate labour.

✔️ Hot and spicy food - Spicy food causes some degree of gastrointestinal distress, which can sometimes stimulate uterine contractions.

✔️ Reflexology - Reflexology hits acupressure points in your foot which triggers a hormonal response and stimulates uterine contractions (surges).

✔️ Homoeopathy

✔️ Warm bath with drops of ‘Clary Sage”, candlelight, music, and visualise the opening of the lotus flower.

✔️ Walking, walking, walking - By staying active gravity will help your baby move down the birth path.

✔️ Aromatherapy - Essential oils can help induce more effective contractions and help with the process of labour.

When your cervix is fully dilated, your baby will move further down towards the entrance to your va**na. You may get an urge to push that feels a bit like you need to poo.

In a physiological labour this urge is spontaneous and the desire to bear down can be huge!

You may feel your abs and pelvic floor helping to move baby down. If you have an epidural, you may not feel an urge to push at all.

This stage of labour is hard work, but your midwife will help and encourage you. Your birth partner can also support you.

Immediately after your baby’s birth, you’ll likely feel a strong sense of relief and even euphoria – brought on by a big release of the hormone oxytocin. An incredible feeling.

For those that have given birth already, how did this part of labour feel for you?

“What I found cool this pregnancy was how much more Spinning Babies® is than just turning a breech. I didn’t realize the exercises/stretches could help with other discomforts until my student midwife taught some to me. Within a week of incorporating the Side-lying Release, my SPD had a noticeable improvement.”
