Applications are now open for the Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) School-Based Traineeship Program.

Families can attend one of upcoming information sessions delivered by the NSW Department of Education in conjunction with TAFE NSW and Apprenticeship Support Australia and will provide a clear overview of the program and what is involved before students commence their traineeship.

What will be covered?

The session will provide an overview of:

The ECEC School-Based Traineeship Program and what students can expect during the two-year traineeship.
The roles and responsibilities of the student, home school, host preschool, and Department of Education.
The Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care (CHC30125) and TAFE NSW training requirements.
The National Child Safety Foundation Training, including what students need to complete before commencing.
Information from Apprenticeship Support Australia about setting up a myGov account, available support, and potential trainee incentives.
The application, interview and commencement process and key dates.
What a typical day may look like for an ECEC trainee working in a public preschool.

Why is attendance important?

There are a number of important requirements associated with commencing an ECEC school-based traineeship. The information session will provide an opportunity to ask questions and gain a clear understanding of the commitments and requirements before submitting an application.

Information Sessions

Information sessions will be held Week 6, Term 3 on Wednesday 26th of August:

πŸ‰2026 AFL NSWACT Secondary Schools Inclusion Carnival πŸ‰

Our Support Unit community continued its long-standing partnership with AFL NSW/ACT by taking part in the Schools Inclusion AFL event.

Students had the opportunity to further develop their AFL skills under the guidance of GWS Giants development staff, while also building positive relationships with students from other schools across the region.

It was a fantastic day both on and off the field, with our students proudly bringing home the Junior Champions Shield! πŸ†

A standout performance from both Bailey Frew and Ben Wise, who were a dominant combination through the midfield and certainly made their presence felt throughout the event!

Another great example of our students embracing inclusion, teamwork and the opportunity to represent our school community with pride. πŸ’™β€οΈπŸ€πŸ’›πŸ’™
