Earlier this term, our Year 9 students explored democracy through a fun and creative “food truck politics” unit, where they created their own food truck ‘political parties’, campaigns and speeches. Through this hands-on experience, they gained insight into how campaigns run and how voting works in practice.

After a close vote, Sweet Stakes won! Today, they celebrated by serving churros and donuts to the year level. We were also delighted to welcome Nicole Werner MP, Member for Warrandyte, who spoke with students about real-world politics and encouraged them in their initiative to learn more about the democratic process—bringing their learning to life. Well done, Year 9!

Our debating program continues to reflect the strong academic culture at our school, with an outstanding start to the year—4 out of 5 teams winning their first three rounds, and all Year 9 teams undefeated! 🗣️

Competing across the Eastern region against highly resourced schools, our students continue to impress.

Debating captain Adriel Chen shares: “Debate is definitely one of my highlights… Each topic brings something new to think about and discuss, and each opposing team presents a different sort of challenge.”

We’re so proud of our students’ confidence, teamwork, and love of learning despite strong competition and new challenges! 🎉

At DCC, we deeply value the trust families place in us. Christian education is at its best when school and home work together in partnership—supporting each child’s learning, faith and personal growth.

This partnership is built on mutual respect, shared responsibility and a genuine commitment to helping every student flourish. From classroom support and volunteering, to daily routines that help students come ready to learn, parents play a vital role in shaping a positive and connected school community.

When families and educators work together, children are better supported to grow academically, socially and spiritually. We are grateful for the many ways our parents contribute to College life and for the care they show in nurturing their children each day.

Thank you for partnering with us in strengthening our College community and enriching the educational journey of every student.

Our Secondary students are proud to present Shrek The Musical — a spectacular Broadway production filled with laughter, adventure, and unforgettable characters.

Meet Shrek: a swamp-loving ogre who simply wants peace and quiet. But when a chaotic crowd of fairytale misfits suddenly invades his swamp, he’s sent on a quest he never asked for.

His mission? Rescue a princess.
Simple… right? Not quite.

Packed with humour, heart, and incredible talent from our students, this is a production you won’t want to miss! 🎭✨

What a remarkable weekend at Generations in Jazz 2026 for our DCC music community 🎶

87 students represented the College with courage, excellence and humility across eight ensembles—taking part in one of the world’s most competitive student music festivals.

Highlights included:
🥇 Altonatives (Small Vocal Ensemble) – 1st, Division 1
🥉 Large Vocal Ensemble – 3rd, Division 1
🎖️ Best Bass Male Vocalist – Ashton B.
🎖️ Best Bass Section – Large Vocal Ensemble
🎖️ Superband Division 4 – Abrielle K.

A special moment was seeing Altonatives perform in front of over 5,000 people—an incredible display of composure and musical maturity. We are most proud of who these young people are: using their gifts with purpose, encouraging one another, and representing our community with integrity—reflecting our strong Music program that nurtures both excellence and character.

We are grateful. We are proud.

As we begin the term, we’re reflecting on our Year 9 Wilderness experience.

When plans changed and comfort fell away, students discovered resilience, courage and the importance of community. In unfamiliar conditions, they learned more about who they are, how they respond to challenge, and how they grow alongside others.

These are the moments that quietly shape young people — building confidence, perspective and hope.

We’re excited to see how our young learners continue to grow through the term ahead!

As Term comes to a close, Easter offers a timely reminder to pause and reflect. In a world that can feel uncertain, we’re invited to find a steady sense of hope—one that isn’t shaped by circumstances, but grounded in something deeper.

Wishing our community a restful break, filled with moments of peace, perspective, and renewal. 🌿

Big days out on the track for both our Primary and Secondary students at this year’s Athletics Carnivals.

Across both events, there was plenty to celebrate—strong performances, records broken, and consistent effort across all events. Just as impressive was the way students showed up for each other, with loud support from the sidelines and genuine encouragement across Houses and Year Levels.

From House chants to the new cheerleading event, there was a great sense of energy and involvement throughout.

Moments like these proudly reflect the kind of community we’re building! 🤩🥳

Our Year 6s spent a special afternoon giving back to the community. They took part in activities like helping Prep classes, assisting our grounds team, thanking Primary staff, creating gift packs for behind-the-scenes staff, and tidying up the Mullum Mullum Trail.

The joy and gratitude were everywhere—from the smiles of our students to the appreciation of those they helped. It was wonderful to see our Year 6 students focusing on the needs of others and making a positive impact. 💛
