Our children have been busy exploring, creating, imagining and discovering through a variety of play experiences this week. From hands-on sensory play to building, role play and creative activities, each moment supports curiosity, confidence and connection with others.

It’s wonderful to see the children so engaged, developing friendships, problem-solving skills and independence while having so much fun along the way 💛

We love watching their learning come to life through play!

Our week has been filled with rich, hands-on learning experiences that support children’s curiosity, creativity, and developing skills.

From sensory “cooking” play, where children explored textures and practised fine motor skills through mixing and scooping, to collaborative messy play encouraging cooperation and imaginative thinking — the learning has been both engaging and meaningful.

What a wonderful week of learning, play, and discovery in the Bilby Group!

Our children have been busy exploring a range of engaging activities and thoughtfully prepared learning environments designed to spark curiosity, creativity, and connection. ✨

From hands-on sensory play and imaginative role-play to early literacy, numeracy, and outdoor adventures, every experience supports the development of confident, capable learners. 🌈

After a bumpy start to the term, we packed up, pivoted, and found ourselves in a new (temporary) home at the Donvale Primary School hall. The space has been reimagined into a welcoming learning environment for our Wallaby and Bilby groups. We are so grateful to our wonderful preschool community for your patience and encouragement, and to Donvale Primary for so generously opening their doors to us. Here’s to fresh starts and making the very best of every situation!

✨ Christmas Fun at Kinder! 🎄✨

Our learning spaces have been full of festive creativity this week! The children have loved exploring a range of Christmas-inspired activities — from painting bright and colourful reindeer, to shaping their own gingerbread people with playdough, to creating beautiful Christmas tree artworks at the easel.

These hands-on experiences support fine motor skills, creativity and confidence, while giving the children opportunities to express their ideas and enjoy the magic of the season.

It’s such a joyful time of year, and we’re so proud of the wonderful creations our kinder friends are making. ❤️💚💛

✨ Bilby Group Play This Week ✨

The Bilby group have been busy listening, dancing and imagining with our Wiggerly Worm incursion

Our Bilbys enjoyed exploring Christmas stories together and had lots of fun moving and working as a team with our colourful Chinese dragon.

Beautiful moments of imagination, cooperation and joyful play. 🐉🎄✨

🥣🐨 “Wombat Stew, Wombat Stew, Gooey, Brewy, Yummy, Chewy, Wombat Stew!” 🦊🌿

Our storytelling table has been bubbling away this week with Wombat Stew!

The children have loved retelling the story, using our felted animals and bush backdrop to bring the characters to life. There’s been lots of laughter, imagination, and even a few new “recipes” being created in the stew pot! 😄

We love how familiar stories like this spark creativity, language, and connection — and a whole lot of fun too! 💚

🐨🌿 Kinder Excursion to Healesville Sanctuary! 🦘🌞
Our Bilby friends had such a wonderful day exploring Healesville Sanctuary! They loved seeing the kangaroos, discovering amazing Australian animals, and learning all about how we can care for our wildlife. 💚

It was a day full of laughter, curiosity, and adventure — the perfect way to learn outside the classroom! 🌳✨

A big thank you to our amazing educators and parent helpers for making the day so memorable. 💕

Our little learners have been having lots of fun this week exploring a magical fairytale world, completing complex puzzles together and exploring with stickers and dough.

Through imaginative play, children are building language, creativity, and storytelling skills — all while having so much fun!
