📚✨ A Little Magic at Donvale Preschool! 🐛🌈

Our Bilby children were immersed in a wonderful world of storytelling, imagination and play this week with the Flying Bookworm Incursion! 📖✨

The children enjoyed bringing some much-loved stories to life, including Custard the Dragon, Caps for Sale and The Three Billy Goats Gruff. 🐉🧢🐐

There was plenty of laughter, excitement and enthusiastic participation as the children listened, joined in and eagerly volunteered to get up and have a go themselves!

It was wonderful to see their confidence, imagination and joy shine through as they became part of the stories. Experiences like these encourage children to develop a love of books and storytelling while building confidence, communication skills and a sense of belonging. 💕📚

A big thank you to the Flying Bookworm team for such a fun and engaging experience for our Bilby children! 🌟

❄️🌧️ Exploring Winter Through Play and Discovery 🌈🐧

Winter has arrived at Donvale Preschool, bringing with it endless opportunities for children to explore, wonder and learn through play.

This week, our children gathered together to investigate the many features of winter. Through photographs, real-life objects and open discussions, they shared their own experiences of rainy days, frosty mornings, warm clothing, umbrellas and the changing weather. These conversations helped build vocabulary, encouraged children to express their ideas and fostered a deeper understanding of the world around them.

Our exploration continued with an Antarctic sensory invitation where children discovered "snow" and searched for hidden penguins beneath the icy landscape. As they scooped, dug, explored and rescued the penguins, they engaged in scientific thinking, problem-solving and imaginative play while developing fine motor skills and sensory awareness.

At Donvale Preschool, we believe that children learn best when they can see, touch, question and investigate. By connecting play with real-world experiences, we inspire curiosity, creativity and a lifelong love of learning.
