Happy Father's Day to all the Fathers in our lives!

All students had the exciting opportunity to purchase a special gift for Dad, Grandad, or another father figure in their lives at our DCS Community Father's Day Expo.

With a wonderful selection of potted plants, magnets, 3D creations, giant cookies, colourful socks, and many other fun and creative items on offer, students thoroughly enjoyed choosing the perfect gift to help celebrate the important men in their lives. We hope the gifts bring plenty of smiles as families celebrate Father's Day. 💙

📚✨ What a wonderful time at our Book Week Parade! Our students took to the stage in the most wonderful costumes, bringing their favourite characters and stories to life.

Seeing the whole school come together to celebrate a shared love of reading was truly special. Beyond the fun and creativity, Book Week is a powerful reminder of why literacy matters at every stage of learning, from our youngest readers building foundational skills in Primary, right through to our secondary students deepening their critical thinking and analysis.

Moments like these help keep reading alive as a joy, not just a skill, across all year levels.

Our Year 4 explorers had the time of their lives at Port Arthur camp! 🎒

It was a wonderful opportunity for them to dive into Tasmania's rich history and learn so much about God's creation. Along the way, they also got to work together and explore lots of different activities. They made memories that will last well beyond the classroom.

We are so proud of these young adventurers and feel blessed that they had this opportunity!

At Devonport Christian School, our students are known, supported and encouraged to grow academically, spiritually and personally. We are committed to helping each young person discover their God-given gifts, build strong character and be equipped to thrive well beyond their school years.

With new places becoming available, we are now welcoming expressions of interest for Secondary enrolments for 2027, as well as limited openings for Primary enrolments, specifically Prep and Year 5/6 in 2027. We warmly invite families to come and experience the heart of DCS. School tours are now available (and you can book a tour directly from our website). Huge congratulations to the incredible cast and crew of Frozen Jr. for putting on an amazing show from the very first rehearsal to the final bow.

A massive thank you to our wonderful DCS community for turning up night after night and packing out the theatre in support of our students. Your enthusiasm didn't just melt our hearts, it powered the whole production!

To every performer, stage crew member, backstage helper, and staff member behind the scenes, you should be so proud. This show wouldn't have been possible without your dedication.

Happy Principal Appreciation Day!

Today we had the privilege of celebrating our wonderful Principal, Mr Smit! 💙

Whether it's the early morning welcome at the gate, the famous fist bumps, or the way he takes the time to truly know and encourage our students, Mr Smit makes a lasting impact every day.

Students expressed their gratitude through beautiful notes and drawings, we shared a delicious Olliebollen morning tea, and for a little extra fun, we introduced a life-sized balloon version of Mr Smit. After all, there are days we could really use two of him! 🎈

Mr Smit, thank you for your faithful leadership, your Godly wisdom, and the care, encouragement and guidance you bring to our community. We celebrate you today and are so thankful for the difference you make in the lives of our students, staff and families.

Last Friday we were thrilled to have Anne Urquhart MP officially open our new Year 5/6 and Year 9/10 buildings, and undercover basketball court, along with special guests including Mayor Alison Jarman, and CEN Board Chair .

We're grateful to everyone who helped bring this vision to life, including the generous support of government funding, our school community, and our builders and architects Mead Con and . Above all, we thank God for His faithfulness and provision.

May these spaces be places where faith grows, learning thrives, and students flourish.
