Are You Being Yourself?
We all hear those words, 'just be yourself'. It’s usually a calming thought for those brief conscious moments, 'ah yes, stop worrying about what other people think'. Ehh, what a load off!
It's such a hopeless act, I mean it's a fact, you just won't and can't be anyone else. Apart from that, nothing will feel quite right unless it's genuinely coming from you.
Let go a little, take the heat off yourself to perform, stop behaving the way you 'think' you should. Instead let your own experiences govern your actions.
Get out there and have some more experiences! Let it all unfold like a two year old's painting. Brilliant colours colliding like we would never dare in our adulthood.
Who says you have to do it that way?
Embrace the awkward moment!
Was it so horrible experiencing pain? Did anything come from it?
What do you absolutely suck at? Ventured there lately?
What do you excel at? Feels good?
Done anything lately to earn a good serving of guilt? You bad arse!
You may think this all sounds a little selfish? I would say quite the opposite, share the real you with your world as much as you can. The good, the bad and the ugly.
It feels great to give the people around you something uniquely you and they'll love you for it. They'll love you because you are different and a layer under, they'll love you because it makes THEM feel human.
