A group of our Secondary students proudly represented Currimundi Special School at the District Athletics Carnival at the Sunshine Coast University Athletics Track on 11 and 12 August.

Students competed in the 100m and 200m sprints and long jump, with some fantastic achievements throughout the carnival.

A special congratulations to our Multi-Class Age Champions:
πŸ† 17 Years Boys – Charlie Hotker
πŸ† 18–19 Years Boys – Logan Steele
πŸ† 16 Years Girls – Isoline-Rose

Following their outstanding performances, all three students were selected to compete at the Regional Athletics Carnival on 25 and 26 August.

We are incredibly proud of all our students who participated, represented our school so well and embraced this wonderful sporting experience. Congratulations! πŸ‘

Another FANTASTIC FUN FACE-CREAMING FRIDAY! πŸ˜‚

One of our newest students, Marley, earned the very special privilege of pie-facing two of our very β€˜willing’ teachers, Kaela and Gemma, after being one of our top fundraisers for the upcoming Colour Run! πŸŒˆπŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ

Once again, everyone was in fits of laughter β€” and judging by that smile, we think Marley may have enjoyed the opportunity just a little bit! 🀣

A huge congratulations to Marley for an amazing fundraising effort, and a very big thank you to Kaela and Gemma for being such great sports! πŸ’™

We can’t wait to see who might be next… πŸ‘€πŸ₯§

WOW β€” what a fantastic start to our Colour Run fundraising! πŸŒˆπŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

Our Currimundi Special School community has already raised an incredible $3,270! πŸ’™πŸ’š

So far, only 24 of our 160 students have created their own fundraising profile, which means there’s still plenty of opportunity for us to build on this amazing total! πŸ™Œ

A huge THANK YOU to every student, family member, friend and supporter who has donated, shared a fundraising page or helped spread the word. Every contribution helps support our school and makes a real difference for our students. πŸ’™

There’s still time to get involved, create a profile, share it with family and friends, and see just how high we can take that fundraising total before the big day! 🌈

$3,270 raised already… how far can we go? πŸš€

Our Senior Secondary students recently visited Compass Caloundra and CSBS as part of exploring post-school pathways and future opportunities.

At Compass Caloundra, students got hands-on with pottery and clay work and helped sand old tables ready to be recycled and given a new purpose.

We then visited CSBS, where we were welcomed with open arms and invited to join in some dancing before creating a potted plant to take home.

Visiting local post-school services like Compass and CSBS helps students build confidence and become familiar with community supports, and make informed choices about their future pathways after school. These real-world experiences are an important part of preparing our students for a successful transition beyond school
