🚀 A new opportunity for future Dianella students!
Last week, we welcomed prospective Year 6 students to our first Academic Extension Testing sessions as they prepare to make the exciting transition into high school next year.
Across two sessions, 34 students attended to complete the online PAT assessment and take their first steps towards joining our new Academic Extension Program in 2027. Students and parents were welcomed at our Lily Cafe, where a friendly chat helped settle nerves before students headed into the testing session.

Our Year 8 STEM students have officially become student interns for the IGNIS Mission Program!
Students attended the launch event and explored how Edith Cowan University (ECU) is leading an innovative Australian–US collaboration with NASA to study lightning and fire from the ground, air, and space.
The day included inspiring guest speakers, hands-on workshops, media training, and resilience activities.
Over the year, students will gain real-world STEM experience, work alongside scientists and engineers, solve complex challenges, and develop valuable teamwork and communication skills.
We can’t wait to see what our future STEM leaders achieve! 🌏🔬

Our Year 12 students recently heard from Michael Francis from Paraplegic Benefit Fund Australia, sharing a powerful message about road safety, responsibility, and the impact our choices can have on others.
Michael spoke about the importance of making safe decisions as drivers, reminding students that our actions affect not only ourselves, but also our passengers, pedestrians, and fellow road users.
Sharing his own journey after a life-changing accident in his youth, Michael spoke openly about resilience, recovery, and continuing to pursue his passions — including work, driving, riding, and professional sport.
Students were highly engaged and respectful throughout the session, taking away an important reminder as they prepare for life beyond school.

Last week we hosted the for the annual Rotary 4 Way Test Breakfast in which students present a topic of their choice to a panel of judges.
Four Year 10 students delivered inspiring speeches exploring topics including homelessness, public speaking, generative AI, and wrongful incarceration — demonstrating confidence, insight, and professionalism.
Congratulations to Lucia, who was selected as the winner and will progress to the semi-finals later this year, with Anastasia recognised as runner-up. 🌟
A huge thank you to Mrs Steck for preparing our students, and to Chef Carlo and our Certificate II Cookery students for creating and serving a fantastic breakfast for our guests from the Lily Café.

Last Wednesday was a huge day for Reconciliation Week as we went ‘All In’ for our Reconciliation Transition Day.
We welcomed Year 4–6 students from Dianella Primary College, Westminster PS and Tuart Hill Primary School for a day filled with arts, crafts, language and cultural dance activities across the College. Our guests also enjoyed a special performance from our Warangka Dandjoo performance crew in the Dandjoo Performing Arts Centre, including a highlight moment where Tahlia led the entire auditorium in a dance in Noongar, English and Italian. 🌏
It was a wonderful day of connection, culture and learning, creating meaningful links with our future students and wider community.
