This week we celebrate NAIDOC Week, honouring the knowledge,
achievements and resilience of Aboriginal and
Torres Strait Islander peoples. At North Morley we are committed to creating
authentic opportunities for students to learn
about and celebrate First Nations histories,
cultures and perspectives throughout the year. By
doing so, we continue to build understanding,
respect and a strong sense of belonging for all
members of our school community.

SCHOOL SPOTLIGHT | Our school library continues to be a place of imagination, curiosity, and a love of reading! Have you seen our tree, it was created by the very talented Miss Rosie.

Term 2 has been full of exciting library activities. Thank you to our wonderful school community for supporting our Book Fair — it was a fantastic success.

Inspired by the Once series, Room 4 has launched our “Letters to Morris” project, with students writing to Morris Gleitzman about the books and characters they love.

Our Bookflix display has encouraged students to discover new reads, while The Quiet Bookmark has provided a welcoming lunchtime space to read, draw, and enjoy board games. It has been especially heartwarming to see our ECE 2 and ECE 3 students enjoying the space with their families on Wednesday and Thursday mornings for Family Storytime.

Behind the scenes, students have also been enthusiastically participating in Book Club and the Premier's Reading Challenge, helping to foster a strong culture of reading across the school.

Looking ahead, Book Week is just around the corner—which book character will you become? Now is the perfect time to start planning your costume!

We are always grateful for volunteers who can help with book covering, creating displays, or organising the collection. Every contribution helps keep our library a vibrant place for students to explore and enjoy. If you have some time to spare, pop in on Wednesdays or Thursdays—We'd love to see you. Education WA

WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY | As part of the Living Green Program, North Morley Primary partnered with the City of Stirling to celebrate World Environment Day by taking part in a community tree-planting event.

These planting events play an important role in protecting and enhancing the environment while fostering community involvement in creating a greener, more sustainable future.

Our Year 6 students planted some of the 2,500 trees that will make Wrigley Seabrook Reserve their home. This event continues tomorrow at the same location from 8:45am to 12:00pm. Grab your gardening gloves and head on down to take part.
