WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY | As part of the Living Green Program, North Morley Primary partnered with the City of Stirling to celebrate World Environment Day by taking part in a community tree-planting event.
These planting events play an important role in protecting and enhancing the environment while fostering community involvement in creating a greener, more sustainable future.
Our Year 6 students planted some of the 2,500 trees that will make Wrigley Seabrook Reserve their home. This event continues tomorrow at the same location from 8:45am to 12:00pm. Grab your gardening gloves and head on down to take part.

NATIONAL SIMULTANEOUS STORYTIME | This is always a favourite event on the North Morley calendar. Not only is it a special opportunity to share the same story at the same time with millions of readers across Australia, but it also gives our staff the chance to step outside their comfort zones and model an important lesson for our students.
This year’s story reminded us of the value of trying something new, embracing challenges and most importantly, it encouraged us all to have fun along the way!
A huge congratulations to our staff for enthusiastically bring the story of Luna Roo to life and embracing the spirit of the day.

CLASSROOM SPOTLIGHT | This term Room 8 has been inspired by the world around them and the beautiful autumnal leaves brought by the season Djeran. Collecting leaf litter from the ground, they conducted an experiment exploring different particles and molecules and whether they can be mixed together. This experiment resulted in making beautiful sensory bottles.
The students love visiting the Outdoor Classroom where they see majestic trees and plants. They wanted to learn more about trees and the WOOD WIDE WEB which is an underground network of mycelium fungi that connects trees together. This prompted the discussion - can trees really talk? The majority of the students agreed however through persuasive texts, each were able to state their argument.
A display of the student's work can be found outside Room 8. Education WA

IN OUR COMMUNITY | A recent highlight for our school community was our First Nations BBQ. It was a warm and meaningful event where our First Nations families were able to connect with one another and engage with the school in a relaxed and welcoming setting.
We value these opportunities to strengthen relationships, listen, share and continue building a school culture where First Nations students, families and perspectives are respected and celebrated.
We continue to explore ways to engage across the community, so keep an eye out for future events. Education WA
