Our Easter activities are well underway and the children are loving all the arts and crafts.

Work Farm 🪱 ♥️

Thursday morning, the centre had our visit from the Nillumbik council to help set up our new worm farm.
The children all gathered outside and were all very excited. They began by playing a little game and answering lots of questions and learning about what worms can and can’t eat.
Once the children were shown how the worm farm works, they were lucky enough to hold the worms if they felt comfortable enough and it’s now all put together for us to take care of.

Nilliumbik council are coming out to educate and help support the set up of our worm farm for the service, this is step one in making us a more sustainable service and we can’t wait to see the benefits 💚

A worm farm has many environmental benefits, including recycling food scraps, minimising food waste that goes to landfill and creating natural garden fertiliser.
