We are thrilled to welcome you to Sacred Heart and into our vibrant School community. As parents, you entrust your children to our care, and we are committed to nurturing their individual strengths and supporting their holistic development – academically, socially and emotionally. Our proud culture – in valuing difference and diversity –

supports students to flourish and connects faith and life by encouraging relationships of respect, trust and acceptance, as inspired by Jesus Christ. Your thoughts and feedback are important to us as we strive to create a nurturing educational environment where your child can thrive. We encourage active participation in both the School and Parish communities. We are blessed to enjoy the wonderful sense of belonging that comes with a Catholic community with a strong spirit that extends beyond the School grounds. With parents as partners, we look forward to embarking on this exciting journey of learning and growth for your child, together. I am dedicated to leading our great School with compassion in our endeavour for academic excellence – we take great pride in the education we impart and values we instil as students enter their next phase well-prepared academically and socially for secondary school and beyond. Welcome to Sacred Heart Primary School – a place of celebration where your child is valued, and your family embraced. Mrs Gina Murphy

It’s Wellbeing Wednesday and we’re talking the power of compliments! 💛

Following on from “Bullying. No Way!”, this week we’re exploring the power of compliments and how a few kind words can make a big difference.

We’re encouraging our students to:

👀 Notice when others are doing well
⭐️ Recognise their efforts
🎉 Celebrate their own achievements, too!

We all experience frustration and big feelings when things don’t go the way we hoped. A kind word, an encouraging comment or a genuine compliment can help build confidence, lift someone up and remind them that they are valued 💛

This week, let’s keep trying, cheer each other on and spread a little kindness! ✨

📣 HAVE YOUR SAY on Sacred Heart ❤️

The MACS School Improvement Survey (MACSSIS) is now open! 💬

Families were emailed the survey link yesterday, and we would be extremely grateful if every family could take a few minutes to share their feedback.

🫱🏼 Your feedback helps us celebrate what is working well at Sacred Heart, while also identifying areas where we can continue to grow and improve.

This year, your feedback is particularly important as Sacred Heart prepares for our School Review in 2027.

📍 The survey is open until Friday 18 September.

Thank you for taking the time to have your say and support the continued growth of our wonderful school community! ❤️

Our Foundation students were very excited to welcome local Victoria Police, along with some kinder friends from Diamond Creek Occasional Care, for a special Road Safety Incursion! 🚓

Students learnt important messages about:

🚦 Staying safe on & around roads
🤔 Making safe choices
👮‍♀️ How police help keep our community safe.

There were plenty of hands-on activities to enjoy, including dressing up as police officers, having their speed tested with a police radar and exploring a real police car!

🚔 The highlight was definitely hearing the siren!

A big thank you to our local Diamond Creek Victoria Police for making road safety fun for our little guests and Foundation students! 💙

As our school community continues to grow from strength to strength, we are thrilled to share some very exciting news about the future! 🏫

Sacred Heart has been successful in its application for the Supplementary Capital Fund for a major new building project! 🎉

The project will see the construction of four new classrooms, providing bright new learning environments for our students.

Subject to the timeline, the project is expected to go to tender around March 2027, with construction hopefully commencing later in the year.

Securing this funding is an incredible achievement for our school and a wonderful investment in the future of our growing Sacred Heart community ❤️

As we grow, we remain committed to preserving everything that makes Sacred Heart such a special place.

We hold close the values and qualities that make us who we are – a welcoming, inclusive and child-centred community where every student is known, valued and supported.

Thank you for your ongoing trust, support and partnership. The future of Sacred Heart is bright, and I am incredibly proud of what we are building together! ✨

We’re closing out Book Week with a look at Year 5/6! 📚✨🧟‍♂️

Our senior students had a very special morning with author Nathan Jones – and even more special because Nathan is the dad of our very own Year 5, Scarlett!

Author of ‘Zed the Vegetarian Zombie’ and the soon-to-be-released ‘If You’re Cast on Thin Ice’, Nathan gave students a fascinating insight into the world of writing and publishing before leading them through a creative writing workshop ✍️📖

Students designed their own characters and imagined the challenges they might face in a story, putting their creativity and storytelling skills to work.

A huge thank you to Nathan for sharing his time, knowledge and passion for storytelling with us! 👏🏼

It’s been a fantastic Book Week here at Sacred Heart – one filled with fun, imagination and a whole lot of reading...

We hope it's inspired you to pick up a book, snuggle up and enjoy some special story time together 📖💫

We have had a fantastic week celebrating the wonderful world of books so far! 📚✨

The Library has been buzzing with excitement, with lots of fun activities taking place at recess and lunchtime.

Students enjoyed a special story time session of ‘Derek’ by Anne Donaldson and Matt Shanks, read by our Year 6 students followed by a fun art activity, as well as a Book Swap and bookmark-making.

There’s been plenty of opportunities to share their love of reading!

Keep your eyes peeled for more Book Week fun! 👀

🏃‍♀️ Spotlight on… PE & District Athletics! 🏃‍♂️

A huge congratulations to all 30 Sacred Heart students who represented our school at the District Athletics competition this week! 👏🏼

Our students competed across a range of track and field events, including long jump, triple jump, shot put and discus.

It was fantastic to see them challenge themselves, support one another and give their best throughout the day 💪🏼

A special congratulations to:

⭐️ Poppy P (Year 4) – 1500m
⭐️ Flynn R (Year 4) – Triple Jump
⭐️ Anthony Z (Year 5) – Discus & Shot Put

All three have progressed to the Division Finals – we wish them the very best! 🏅

We’re also incredibly proud of the wonderful feedback we received about the way our students conducted themselves. They represented Sacred Heart with pride, respect and sportsmanship – a wonderful reflection of our school community 🥰

Well done to all 30 students, we’re so proud of you! 👏🏼
