📚 Book Week – Stay, Play & Explore!
Join us on Monday morning for a fun Book Week celebration!
We’ll have:
• Mini books to make
• I Spy book‑character activity
• Bookmarks
• Favourite science experiments from last week
• Activities for all children birth to five years

Dress up as your favourite book character!
Bring a water bottle and a piece of fruit.

🔬 Science Fun at LiL!

What a fun morning of scientific exploration and discovery! If your child enjoyed our experiments at Launching into Learning this morning, why not try them again at home?

🍋 Fizzy Lemons

Cut a lemon in half and sprinkle bicarbonate soda over the top. Use a paddle pop stick or spoon to mix the lemon juice and bicarbonate soda together. Watch closely as it starts to fizz and bubble!

🌈 Fizzing Rainbows

Fill a shallow tray or container with bicarbonate soda. Using pipettes, suck up coloured vinegar and sq**rt it onto the bicarbonate soda. What happens? What new colours are created? Try using red, yellow and blue vinegar to explore colour mixing.

✨ Potion Making

Set out a variety of ingredients such as glitter, feathers, sequins, coloured vinegar, lemons and bicarbonate soda in small containers. Invite your child to mix the ingredients together and watch in delight as their magical potion bubbles and fizzes!

Science play encourages children to explore, learn new words, investigate, ask questions and develop early problem-solving skills. Most importantly, it is lots of fun!

Celebrating Science Week at LiL

Join us for a fun morning of science experiments for our little learners. These activities will help build curiosity and support children’s talking and learning.

We will also have activities linked to our ‘Let’s Get Talking’ focus — talking with feeling.

All children from birth to five years are welcome - and it’s free!

9:00–10:30am in the Hillcrest Primary School kindergarten.

We would love our LiL families to join us on Friday morning for this special Book Week event! This will be instead of our usual Rhyme and Story Time in our school library. We hope to see you there!
