National Science Week 2026: Seeds of Science - Nurturing Knowledge for All
This week, our students have been busy celebrating National Science Week 2026 by creating their very own cress heads with their buddy classes.
Working together, students explored the science behind plant growth, learning that every seed has the potential to grow when it is provided with the right conditions. This hands-on activity encouraged curiosity, collaboration, and a deeper understanding of the living world around us.
The theme, "Seeds of Science: Nurturing Knowledge for All," reminds us that learning begins with small ideas that, when nurtured, can flourish into wonderful discoveries.
Our cress heads are now hard at work growing their "hair," and we can't wait to see the results!
Stay tuned next week when we showcase our creations and reveal some fantastic new hairstyles!

๐ฑ Exciting Progress on Our Oval Restoration! ๐ฑ
Yesterday marked the beginning of Stage 2 of our oval restoration project, and our students were thrilled to see all the action happening today! ๐
There was plenty of excitement as machinery moved in and work got underway on the next phase of transforming this important space. Our oval is at the heart of daily PE lessons, play, sport, and community activities, and we can't wait to watch it continue to take shape over the coming weeks.
We are looking forward to seeing the progress unfold throughout the term and sharing updates with our school community along the way.

Supporting Our Grade 6 Students on Their High School Transition Journey
Today, we welcomed Mrs Heazlewood from Reece High School to Miandetta to meet with our Grade 6 students and begin conversations about the exciting transition from primary school to high school. It was also wonderful to see some familiar faces, with former Miandetta students joining the visit and sharing in this important milestone. Starting high school is a big step, and we look forward to working closely with students and families to ensure a smooth and positive transition.
