We were very encouraged to see Minister Brendan O'Connor MP and TAFE Directors Australia highlighting our significant new research on adult literacy barriers and needs in Australia in their communications. The report "Uncovering Adult Literacy and Numeracy Needs in Australia" is available on our website.

This year TCAL's president, Lucy Whitehead, Iona Johnson and Susan Buggy from Libraries Tasmania, Henry Trewren from Libraries Tas (working on a literacy pilot project in the prisons), Harry Atkinson (Work & Training) and 26TEN's Kate Boatwright all attended the ACAL Conference in Adelaide.
