๐๐ This term in Social and Emotional Learning (SEL), our Grade 6 students have been learning about emotional regulation and bullying prevention. ๐ง ๐ค
๐ We have focused on building respectful relationships and understanding how to manage emotions in different situations. A key focus has also been understanding bullying and the role of an upstander ๐ฆธโโ๏ธ๐ฆธโโ๏ธ, including how to recognise bullying ๐ซ and take positive action to support others. ๐
๐ญโ๏ธ Students have practised these skills through role plays, scenarios, and comic strip activities in a safe and supportive environment. ๐ฃ๏ธ๐โจ
๐ We are proud of the way our students are developing empathy, resilience, and the confidence to make positive choices that help create a caring and inclusive school community. ๐๐ค๐

โ๐ Thank You for Supporting Our Biggest Morning Tea! ๐โ
We are delighted to share that our recent Biggest Morning Tea was a wonderful success, raising an incredible $836 for a great cause! ๐
This achievement was made possible through the generous contributions of homemade goods, donations from our school community, and the silent auction of Brendanโs artwork. ๐จโจ
A special thank you to Gina Waterfeld from Coolaroo South Primary School, and everyone who donated, attended, contributed, and supported this event. Your generosity and community spirit helped make the day such a success. ๐
We are incredibly grateful for your support and for helping us make a positive difference together. ๐

๐งช๐ฌ This term in science, students continued developing their understanding of Chemical Sciences through a range of hands-on investigations and design challenges. ๐งโ๐ฌโจ
๐ Students explored how materials can be changed and tested their properties through activities such as ink chromatography, where they discovered that some inks are made from a mixture of different colours. ๐จ๐
๐๏ธ They also investigated the strength and stability of materials by constructing solid structures using Blu Tack and pop sticks, applying problem-solving ๐ง and teamwork ๐ค skills.
๐ฅ To further explore irreversible changes in materials, students created their own casein plastic from milk, observing how chemical processes can produce new materials with different properties. ๐งชโก๏ธ๐งฑ
๐ Throughout the term, students made predictions ๐ฎ, recorded observations โ๏ธ, analysed results ๐, and used scientific language ๐ฌ to explain their thinking.
๐ It has been wonderful to see our young scientists showing curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking as they explored the world of Chemical Sciences! ๐๐ฌ๐งช
