๐Ÿ•๏ธโœจ Last week, while some of our Year 5 students were away on camp, those remaining at school enjoyed a range of exciting activities and team challenges! ๐ŸŽ‰

Over the three days, students competed in a friendly team competition ๐Ÿ†, earning points through activities such as creating a marble run โš™๏ธ, Amazing Olympics ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿฅ‡, Capture the Flag ๐Ÿšฉ, trivia quizzes ๐Ÿง โ“, hut building ๐Ÿ›–, and much more!

It was wonderful to see the outstanding teamwork ๐Ÿค, determination ๐Ÿ’ช, and enthusiasm ๐Ÿ˜„ displayed by all students as they participated, challenged themselves, and supported one another throughout the week. ๐ŸŒŸ๐Ÿ‘

A fantastic few days filled with fun, collaboration, and plenty of smiles! ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ…

๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ˜Š This term in Social and Emotional Learning (SEL), our Grade 6 students have been learning about emotional regulation and bullying prevention. ๐Ÿง ๐Ÿค

๐ŸŒŸ We have focused on building respectful relationships and understanding how to manage emotions in different situations. A key focus has also been understanding bullying and the role of an upstander ๐Ÿฆธโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿฆธโ€โ™‚๏ธ, including how to recognise bullying ๐Ÿšซ and take positive action to support others. ๐Ÿ’›

๐ŸŽญโœ๏ธ Students have practised these skills through role plays, scenarios, and comic strip activities in a safe and supportive environment. ๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ๐Ÿ“–โœจ

๐Ÿ‘ We are proud of the way our students are developing empathy, resilience, and the confidence to make positive choices that help create a caring and inclusive school community. ๐ŸŒˆ๐Ÿค—๐Ÿ’™

Campers finished the day with a Survival Game and BBQ. It has been our favourite activity so far!

โ€ผ๏ธ Campers will arrive back to school at 2:15pm.

To help us make the pick up process smoother:
Our students will be ushered to the Resource Centre. Families MUST speak to one of the teachers and sign their child out before leaving
After signing out, you may collect your childโ€™s luggage by the fence along the front of the school (by the Kiss and Drop zone)

*** if you need to collect your childโ€™s medication, please seek out Steve exclamation โ€ผ๏ธ

โ˜•๐Ÿ’› Thank You for Supporting Our Biggest Morning Tea! ๐Ÿ’›โ˜•

We are delighted to share that our recent Biggest Morning Tea was a wonderful success, raising an incredible $836 for a great cause! ๐ŸŽ‰

This achievement was made possible through the generous contributions of homemade goods, donations from our school community, and the silent auction of Brendanโ€™s artwork. ๐ŸŽจโœจ

A special thank you to Gina Waterfeld from Coolaroo South Primary School, and everyone who donated, attended, contributed, and supported this event. Your generosity and community spirit helped make the day such a success. ๐Ÿ’›

We are incredibly grateful for your support and for helping us make a positive difference together. ๐ŸŒŸ

๐Ÿงช๐Ÿ”ฌ This term in science, students continued developing their understanding of Chemical Sciences through a range of hands-on investigations and design challenges. ๐Ÿง‘โ€๐Ÿ”ฌโœจ

๐ŸŒˆ Students explored how materials can be changed and tested their properties through activities such as ink chromatography, where they discovered that some inks are made from a mixture of different colours. ๐ŸŽจ๐Ÿ”

๐Ÿ—๏ธ They also investigated the strength and stability of materials by constructing solid structures using Blu Tack and pop sticks, applying problem-solving ๐Ÿง  and teamwork ๐Ÿค skills.

๐Ÿฅ› To further explore irreversible changes in materials, students created their own casein plastic from milk, observing how chemical processes can produce new materials with different properties. ๐Ÿงชโžก๏ธ๐Ÿงฑ

๐Ÿ“‹ Throughout the term, students made predictions ๐Ÿ”ฎ, recorded observations โœ๏ธ, analysed results ๐Ÿ“Š, and used scientific language ๐Ÿ’ฌ to explain their thinking.

๐Ÿ‘ It has been wonderful to see our young scientists showing curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking as they explored the world of Chemical Sciences! ๐ŸŒŸ๐Ÿ”ฌ๐Ÿงช
