🚀 Physics, Maths and a whole lot of adventure! 🌌
Our Year 11 Physics and Mathematics Specialist students enjoyed an incredible two-day excursion to Perth!
At the Gravity Discovery Centre, students explored the Leaning Tower of Gingin, investigated falling water balloons, discovered the science behind gravitational waves and experienced demonstrations of gravity and simple harmonic motion. The evening finished with a guided tour of the night sky, using telescopes to observe planets, nebulae, binary stars and distant galaxies. 🔭✨
The next morning, it was off to Adventure World! 🎢 Students tackled the Kraken, Inferno, Black Widow, Goliath and Abyss while wearing PASCO accelerometers to record their motion in three dimensions. The data will provide plenty of real-world physics to analyse back at school!
From the depths of space to the thrills of roller coasters, it was an amazing mix of hands-on learning, great questions, scientific discovery and plenty of fun. What a way to bring Physics and Mathematics to life!
