Broomehill today, Nyabing next week and last week I was at Walpole. I’ve been visiting the country towns for years now and it is always wonderful to see the babies growing up. Thanks to A Smart Start for sponsoring me and Uplyft (formerly Wanslea) for Walpole.

We’re in the technological age hanging onto devices that are literally bleaching the soul life of humanity.

Our relationship with eachother, with our Creator and with nature, have all been affected.

The software devices in our lives are rewriting over our own software, like bright lights that evaporate the beauty of a candle.

Modern children need raw materials to ground and anchor in our world. Children are biologically hardwired to explore them. When children freely handle these raw materials, something ancient is connected and their chemistry settles and their attention grows.

Dirt, water, clay, fire, these are all natural antidotes that reduce the negative effects of technology.

I used to get my children to look at a candle if they watched a movie before bed “to erase the images and free up their dreaming space”.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the wonderful mamas I know and love. A special love to beautiful Holly, my daughter in law; how blessed I am, she is a delight and a wonderful mum!
Here’s what my husband got me today! A Ute load of fruit trees!
I’d given up the idea of flowers or anything on Mother’s Day, a long time ago.
He’s not that kind of man.
But I was the kind of woman who invariably got upset about it.
I’d say nothing, then say everything. Peace and harmony scattered because of expectation and comparison.
I wish I had known back then that he was going to wait 27 years and get me them all at once!

Autumn is here. Time to think about fire and warmth for winter. That was life before our modern heating. No one needs to plan ahead to push a button on a remote control home heating system.
In the past we were closeting kindling bundles, preparing food for the pantry, boosting our children’s immune systems, making fire cider etc.
Now we’re scrolling…
We’ve become dislocated from the deeper impulses of women and men before us. But our brave new world; the one everyone was so excited about, feels very isolating and now we run with higher levels of anxiety than ever before.
Next term I am starting a weekly back to basics course, workshopping together around the seasons, with children but pitched for adults to remember what is fast sliding out of our consciousness.

Advertising from the 60s using imagery of their mothers and grandmothers as dowdy, unattractive and unsophisticated, while the new woman shown to be so desirable! (And therefore useful)
Our daughters and granddaughters have woken up in this world where we admire the shallow, the veneer and mock the all suffering women of the past.
All propaganda!!
All of it designed to lead women away from their hearts, our hearts.
So the female heart could bring resentment and bitterness into the home…(I have been guilty of this too)
And sand blast generations into believing that men are s**t and women are it!

If you are pregnant now, at any stage, you are in the place of creation; the unknowable, the unseen is developing in you.
You can ask questions and read books but you cannot know with your mind the fullness of what is happening.
You have entered a kind of marathon that can’t be won or accomplished, only experienced.
Surrender is the state that can bring you bliss and connection. The baby forms whether you know stuff or not. The forces taking place are humanity’s life blood. You are in a stream that will take you and if you lay back and let the thoughts flow away, what will be left is a chemistry God made.

The feminine expressed is a mystery potent in ecstatic union that nothing can explain. Release the world of words; smell flowers, knit, weave and walk. Soak up the beauty of the world around you. Be present to the miracle of life. Birth is within you. Your pulsing heart beats with another. You are more than you. Let God in and your fears and concerns will dissolve into an elixir of love.
Let your frontal brain be paused so that the ancient part of your being can hold you in its beautiful chemistry.

I am collaborating with an official group for a parenting program and in the volume of material, just as an aside, was a statement about birthing people. In a sentence it explained why saying ‘birthing woman’ is not appropriate.
It’s a small barb in this world of double speech. Inconsequential in the scheme of it all.
Though it has hit a social nerve for me; connected to deeper roots of truth and humanity, it is protected by a political shell whereby if I say something/ anything, I would be being political and immediately dismissible.
It is a woman’s body that births babies.
Any pregnant woman so uncomfortable with being addressed as a woman, while in the ultimate state of our gametes function, is an exception that must not take from other women.
Women birth babies. We breastfeed and it is our biological gametes that have provided the building blocks for this miraculous event!
To say otherwise is to corrupt the truth and to do so is to poison our children and our future. Let women who don’t identify as women, pregnant though they may be, be the individual expression they claim to be and leave the rest of womankind alone. Women and only women give birth.
